This movie is sweet and hilarious. Ben's shyness and Evies potty mouth make for bizarre combination, but a lovely friendship buds and life comes into Ben's eyes. The subtle work is done very well and the over the top work is funny. Julie Walters is brilliant and quirky as an overdone actress and Rupert Grint is sweet in his portrayel of shy Ben. Laura Linney plays Bens mum and she is so delicious in her deceptively wicked ways. Very good movie, funny and touching.

An excellent display of Brittish humor and setting. Wonderful performances by all of the actors. Dissapointing that there's such a lack of publicity towards this one.

I usually like repertory movies, but this one was so painfully dragging in circles that I forced myself into watching some more, and more, and although I kept hoping, there was no improvement. Rupert is OK in Harry Potter movies, but here he has nothing much to do, he basically walks around and says some boring stuff from time to time. There was no emotion in his character... But maybe his character was supposed to have no emotion? The rest of the cast was hectically trying to make the movie good, but I didn't like their efforts.

I loved Julie Walters in this really extravagant role. Rupert was quite good although I'm sure he'll do better as his acting chops mature with age. The story of a man as he comes of age to make his own way in life. He has to deal with an overprotective mother and makes a few friends that will change his life along the way.

This movie had quite a few good moments and touching scenes. I loved the storyline, but something didn't cut it for me very well... maybe the acting, maybe the overly-exaggerated characters.

This movie was really good! Rupert Grint was excellent and Julie Walters was fabulous! I'm absolutely in love in him now. I would totally recommend this movie to anyone who is lucky enough to live near a theatre where it is playing.

GREAT SHOW!!! I thought it was really funny! Rupert (Ben) is so awkward foor the camera, and it just fits.
