An entertaining thriller. Not the type of film I expected to see Harrison Ford and Michele Pfieffer in, and I think that added to the film. They both did good jobs and the director used their personas to get the audience thinking in the way he wanted about their characters, making the ultimate resolution of the story more of an adventure.

Great film! I was afraid to go to the bathroom for a week... The beginning is spooky, but once u know the intrigue... Come on people, the end was simply pathetic!

Have you people all gone mad? This movie was so stupid, I laughed everytime they attempted to surprise us with any element. It was predictable, and the only suspense there was was a combination of musical effects and visual flashes... This means, the story was to weak give us a little spook!

What Lies Beneath was a very good movie. It was so scary. I couldn't stop screaming. I thought this was one of the best horror movies. I recommend this to anyone who likes to be scared for days.

Michelle, you made me mad. What the heck were you thinking get out of the house! Damn it, anyway! Run girl, run and don't look back. Great actress! Hated her. She really pissed me off as I knew what was coming, and she just went along casually like, aagh!.

What Lies Beneath is an ongoing thriller throughout it`s duration. Michelle Pfeiffer played her role wonderfully and came out a better person despite the real haunting horrors that were a part of her life. Harrison Ford made one impression on an angry female audience!!!

This thriller has a definite "Hitchcock" style to it. I jumped out of my seat a couple of times! Great Movie!

It's a thriller!! Just when you think you had it all figured out... Good til the last minute. The suspense makes your heart pound. When was the last time you heard someone scream out loud at the movie theatre? Awesome use of Hicthcock tricks. Definitely a must see!!

What Lies Beneath is an odd movie. Parts of it work very well --the casting I liked, and some of the scenes were genuinely spooky-- but there is something unpleasantly clumsy about the manner in which this film was assembled. It was as though the director was working with some sort of a checklist, and was stuffing plot twists and surprise endings into places where they didn't quite belong. I don't mind being manhandled and manipulated by a director, but I like the manipulation and manhandling to be just subtle and skillful enough so that I can fall for the story, suspend all disbelief, and still respect myself in the morning. You know that there are problems with a movie when the 'ghost out for revenge' idea is the most believable part of the story. If the script had been a bit more original, this could have been a much better film.

This was a really good movie. It was worth the money and I would surely go see it again. The ending was like every other predictable movie, but I find it better that way. All movies are predictable and that's what makes it good.

I really liked this movie. It kept me wondering how the murder occurred and what was going to happen to him. Its also a scary movie and kept me jumping the whole time (especially toward the end). I would definitely recommend this movie (and to even watch it at the theatres).

This movie is under-rated. The suspense is bone chilling. It gets off to a slow start but the suspense just keeps growing and growing. It's the first time in decades that I've actually jumped out of my seat and screamed at a movie. Wow!

Pretty good. Freaky, but not too much... Could wait for the video. But for better scares see it on the big screen.

Oh, this movie gave me the creeps. I enjoyed it. The film has more to it than the trailer would have you believe. The plot is a good campfire ghost story. It's worth watching twice. The special effects make-up was plenty convincing.

THE BEST thriller since Silence Of The Lambs... although not as good a Silence. It's difficult to make a truly scary film and Zemeckis keeps you on the edge of your seat nearly throughout its entirity. However, the ending could have been better.

I enjoyed the first 3/4 of this movie, then it just got cheesy, tired and predictable. In the end I was hoping everybody would just die and get it over with. The director didn't know when to let it end.

Robert Zemeckis is a master at his craft. This is a movie experience at its fullest. Suspense, story, acting, directing. It was even funny in a very witty way. The best movie of the year (forget Gladiator). The way the movie takes control of you is unprecedented for a suspense movie. Don't believe me, just go see it.

Excellent film à la Hitchcock. Le suspense est présent jusqu'à la dernière seconde: alors que l'on croit que tout est terminé... ça recommence! Si vous aimez les films stressants, je vous le recommande fortement.

The best horror movie since Friday The 13th! The movie drags you minutes past the normal suspense span of any competitor. Not the best for people with heart conditions (seriously). Twice as good seen on the big screen, so don't wait for VHS with this one.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This movie was good in many ways except the part where Norman doesn't die until the ending after all the crap he went through. Great acting, director, scary, suspence, scenes and great story.

Although the movie isn't a chiller, it does successfully stun the audience in several scenes. It is fair to say that if you are free to watch a movie this weekend, be sure that you don't miss this one.

I saw "What Lies Beneath" last Friday. I wasn't impressed. The horror scenes were too predictable. I wouldn't pay full price for this one. Save this one for a Saturday afternoon matinee.

Quite a few people had the same problem as I did with this movie... There is a good half hour in the middle which is perfect for a nap. I literally fell asleep in the middle of the movie. If they cut a half hour out of the middle this movie would have been much better. If you nap you'll probably rate it at an 8, if you watch the whole thing you'll probably rate it at a 6.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Predictable horror scenes, car doesn't start, he is not dead, that we find in all regular horror movie. The idea is not bad, though it could have been produced better if they added more mystery to the ghost and the way she contacts it. The thing I liked in the movie was not to feel bored though there aren't lots of action, but I believe the actors took this praise on there shoulder and the director.

The only thing to say about this movie is that it was scary. All other movies these days rely on disturbing images and sci-fi characters to make the movie scary, but this movie was a good old fashioned scary movie. The plot was a little slow, but defintely scary, it kept you on the edge of your seat. It was also different to see Harrison Ford play the part that he did in this film. Defintely a good movie to see, for a good scare!
