I think people are expecting a lot more out of this movie and I will admit, some scenes could be a little more uppity and interesting, but this is one of the few movies I've seen that sticks exactly to the show it originally came from. This movie is a slight revamp of the Speed Racer anime from the 1960's but everything is dead on. Although, some advice; Kids 10 and under probably shouldn't see it, (they'll either be bored stiff or love it enough to see again), there is one small fight scene that's pretty entertaining with all the cheesy punches but it's nowhere near traumatizing, and to understand where this movie is coming from, you should probably watch an episode or two of the series. I did, and I found the movie a lot better and far more interesting than the show. Secondly, you should probably bring a pair of sunglasses or something. There is A LOT of color in this movie and the racing parts, although incredibly exciting, are almost seizure inducing with all the flashing lights. It puts a bit of a strain on the eyes but it's still a good watch. These races are far better than NASCAR. My dad saw it with me and he thought it would be a bad movie, but he said he was pleasantly suprised. A lot better than he thought it would be. I give it an 8/10 because it's a great movie to watch. Not ground breaking, all-action like Ironman (the two films shouldn't even be compared to each other)but still entertaining -and some scenes were cheesy, but hey, If you're still unsure, go see it on a Tuesday when tickets are only 5$. I think they did a good job of summing up 50+ episodes in under three hours. I like it.

I wasn't expecting anything special, I was surprise but I liked the movie a lot, it's not a masterpiece, but still I had a good laugh, special effects are awesome and the story is great, This movie is a late afternoon movie or a tuesday night movie of choice.

My sons loved it, my oldest son is 17 and watched speed racer on the cartoon network when he was little... Great graphics!!!

Wow. Yes maybe a little corny... but that is the entire point of the way it was made... acting was on par, and and it was entertaining... GO SEE.

This was a great movie if your kids don't know who speed racer is then it won't matter cause it's a high octance rush from start to finish!

Kind of a cheesy movie for adults, my son was a little tramatized over some of the violence. He loved the racing scenes and he felt parts were pretty funny. Way too long - felt it could have been editted as there was a lot of nonsense that did not lend itself to the movie at all.

This movie was was to hard to follow for my 5 year old and my 10 year old! First hour was boring, the last hour was not too bad, at least there was abit of racing. I would not recommend this movie!

At 135 minutes, this movie was too lengthy by at least 45 minutes. More action less self-indulgent meandering pointless dialogue.

This movie was pure fun. The line between cartoon and live-action is effectively blurred and there are some really nice visuals. I was worried that the colour and style would give me a headache, but it wasn't an issue. Good, fun summer movie with great visuals and a good story. Only warning is that it might be a bit long for younger viewers.

I can't believe the positive reviews this piece of garbage is getting. It was god aweful. Boring beyond belief, way too long, terrible writing, acting and visuals were annoying. This film is completely lifeless. Avoid at all costs.

Well in conclusion it is a good movie for child. But it is to I realistic for adult. The story was cute. And the special effect are so so I seen better! It's a movie you can miss go see Ironman it looks good.

I love the action. I liked when they made the new car. It was sort of sad in parts too. I loved the sharp wheels on the mote mobile.
