I absolutely loved this movie! Laura Linney is outstanding. She deserves more recognition than she is getting. That Oscar should definitely gone to her for this film. It is one of the few, if the ONLY, film that I never fast forward through to get to the good bits. Every minute of this movie is captivating. Rory Culkin is adorable. By far the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The only downfall was the casting of Matthew Broderick as the 30something-man-having-an-affair. Can we say typecast? As soon as he came on the screen, I knew what was going to happen. Nevertheless, Laura Linney's excellent performance completely overshadowed any qualms I had with casting.

Excellent Movie! Great performances from all the actors, especially Laura Linney. One of those "sweet" movies that actually has a lot of depth and humour.

The significant difference in high and low scores for this movie is an important clue to its quality. This movie is a shining example of excellent scripting and ensemble acting, with a striking realist bent. This is not a Hollywood formula movie and would score a "1" with those looking for cheap plot twists, gooey dialog, and beautifully wrapped film packages. If the viewer has a sibling, there may be more poignancy in the primary relationship of the movie. I was suprised that the movie dug at some of my emotional roots, but the joy of seeing a moving, artfully crafted film with honest characters in an otherwise bleak film season was enough to cry a bucket of tears.

I liked Mathew Broderik in the movie but think his work is getting old, I see the same guy in different movies but always the same type of character. I can't count on him anymore.

Great character development combined with a multilayered storyline. It made me do a bit of thinking after it was over.
