A very suspense filled drama. Fonda and Tilly both deliver roles that allow us a peak at their strength as actresses. Tilly steps away from her victim roles of the past and has a dark subtle character, while Fonda shows a nievity unlike her usual roles.

I thought Agnes of god was a great movie. It left you wondering what really went on. It shows just how different spiritual and scientific views really are.

This is probably one of the most thought-provoking films I have ever seen in my entire life and I have first seen it when I was in my teens. Recently, I have seen it again on cable and I just couldn't resist but to clap my hands in awe at the end of the movie. Well-acted (you should see the last scene) and the cinematography was brilliant. It's a regret Meg Tilly isn't active in acting now, she was very, very convincing as innocent Agnes. Ditto with Anne Bancroft and Jane Fonda. Watch it, watch it, watch it, for God's sake. It's a classic.

Interesting exploration of the metaphysical question, "What if God asked a girl today to do what Mary did? ".

Meg Tilly was brilliant in this film. She exuded innocence. Anne Bancroft's portrayal of the mother superior showed a tough but devoted human being. The story line was brutal in it's graphics and shocking to those of us who never conceived of nuns in this light. Jane Fonda was mediocre in her role, I thought she could have come off a little tougher in her approach to the subject. All in all, it was thought provoking film, well acted, the cinematography was good, but I found that it tried too hard to make us believe that it was some type of miracle, too bad.
