It started out good in the beginning with a few small funny jokes here and there. A good concept but the movie didn't develop into anything worth really paying money to see :( It's too bad really because it had the potential to become a great classic movie.

It didn't really make any sense. Character development was poor, there were to many of them, it was weird just for the sake of being weird. Its was'nt a western, it wasnt a martial arts movie. The action scenes were not that good. And the story poorly developed. Stay away, not worth it.

A priceless opening (with QT) sequence slowly deflates with rarely a saving breath to keep one seated for it's entire length. A great concept that takes itself too seriously too soon. A shame really :(

A fun movie, but falls short in terms of originality. Sukiyaki Western Django has a long list of references and quotation... a problem in this case, when they occur at every 5 minutes. If you haven't seen any Kurosawa or Leone (or the original by Corbucci), you'll think this is a great movie! A very enjoyable movie, when you know what you're getting yourself into!

I've never been much of a fan of Takashi Miike's many, many films but as far as I'm concerned this is his peak. Don't get me wrong, if it looks like this movie isn't for you, it probably isn't. Sukiyaki Western Django is packed full of anime inspired action, homages to spaghetti westerns, and a sense of humour you just don't get here in North America. It's the sense of humour that really attracts me to the movie along with its marvelous blend of drama. Sukiyaki is over the top, comical, action-packed, but so much fun you'll be sorry if you miss it.

I saw the trailer for this and and a long time fan of Takashi Miike I was pretty interested, but not sure if Miike could cross the barrier into the western genre. Calling it a samurai western would be such an understatement as it is totally unique in its own way. It's definitely not the perfect movie and, I'm sure a lot of people wont be into it, but its just one of those movies that has to be seen to be believed.
