I luv dialogue-intense movies that are about character and ideas, more than plot and special effects. This one really appealed to me, and it is my favorite Kevin Smith pic(I've seen them all) I love it when taboo subjects are dealt with in such a refreshingly uninhibited way, without it being gratuitous. Good job Kevin!

I'm a Kevin Smith fan, and besides Dogma, this film is the best written Smith movie ever. It's funny, emotional, well performed, smart, and an incredibly modern love story with a twist to the end.

Funny. Unrealistic. Entertaining. Well acted. Pondering. Remember: averages are affected by extremes. This movie is better than most, if not all sappy hollywood romance-comedies out there. I'd watch this one again.

Funny movie, probably the best storyline in a Kevin Smith movie, not the funniest but the smartest.

This is a hate or love movie. Well, I hated it. I think the actors really tried to the best they could out of an awfull script that was even more awfully directed. The dialogues and most of the scenes are completely irrealistic and become extremly anoying. Basically this is a very pretentious movie with charcaters that could only exist in an imaginary world and think they know and hold the solutions to every single love, romance and sex issues. The only good part about this movie is the comedy aspect with some scenes where you can't help yourself but just laugh out loud. I think that Kevin Smith should just stick to comedies and quit trying to make these type of pretentious dramas that don't make any sense to all those living in the realistic world.

Not the best Kevin Smith movie but great, (obviously Clerks is the best that you could come across but hey) Prson that rips into this flick needs to get a grip on reality, person clearly doesn't have a sence of humour. Anyways, here is to Kevin Smith, the greatist Director/script writer of all time. Might be my opinion, but at leat it is honest :-)

Chasing Amy has to be one of the funniest films ever along with Mr Smiths other films.

If I could have an intellectual conversation with anyone in this world, my first pick would be Kevin Smith. This man is brilliant. My second pick would be Jason Lee, this man has the most natural, funny guy appeal that I've ever seen. Chasing Amy was the very first movie I bought on DVD and I've definitely gotten my money's worth. If I were stranded on an island this would be the movie I'd take with me. How could anyone ever get too much of Jason Lee, he puts Ben Affleck to the back of the bus. Kevin you've got superb taste in casting, wish other casting directors would take notice of what a great actor Jason Lee really is!!! I love Jason!!! :-).

Watch out for Kevin Smith. This guy has talent, he is the writer producer actor and heart of this and all his other films. Chasing Amy looks at the complications of modern day romance with a very honest eye.

A gorgeous girl, a handsome guy... The power of seduction and the birth of a love story... At first sight, the scenario seems to be of the most commonplace and the outcome of the most predictable: as a matter of fact, you're put into an incredibly familiar atmosphere from the first minutes of the story... The colors of reality are over every mere detail you catch and you just find in them the reflections of our simple lives... In this atmosphere dominated by a sort of constant suffering, revealed into people's eyes, thru their predictable attitudes, thru their harsh and fast contacts, love appears slowly and gently as a return to innocence... A love that's now the softest caress now the wildest torture; a love that accepts no fence, not even the girl's initial homosexuality... All of a sudden, all the rest seems to be a whole game; it loses its apparent great significance and collapses... First appeared as a fairy tale in this real "hard" existence, this love becomes then the very meaning of it... But could he turn a blind eye to the erratic past she once had? Could she endure his childish need to go thru her previous sexual experiences, so as to be her "equal"? And in fact can "true love" exist and last with human beings imperfections? Indeed, in the process of reaching each other, nothing seems to be a real obstacle to the 2 persons, totally striped of any external influence... Thru the ascent of their romance, their only one sizable enemy happens to be nothing but themselves, carrying their own fears and doubts, carrying this uncontrolled selfishness... Thus, while you're moved and charmed by the outstanding affair, you can't help facing the tragical paradoxes of our existence... The film makes you navigate thru humanity's grace and wildness, in a way only Art's unlimited dimensions can do. A real treasure, so amazingly authentic... A magnificent tribute to Manhood's unwavering fragility and perhaps a reflection upon the meaning of Love... And Freedom... ? !
