I've been preaching this kind of 'News' since my college days (sadly that's 15 years) and I see that not only has nothing changed, but things have actually gotten even worse since then. A good book to read would be Michael Pollans "In Defense of Food" for people who are interested in what is sold to them as food like substances in your local supermarket.

I knew a lot of this stuff already, but that's probably because I've got my eyes and ears open about the subject matter. A good continuation of "Fast Food Nation", whose author appears in the film. People need to get educated and turned on. SEE THESE KIND OF FILMS!

I wish that this movie was mandatory for everyone to watch. I thought that I knew about factory farming before.

Everyone should see this movie so they can at least make informed choices about what they eat. I know a lot about this topic but I still learned things I wasn't aware of. The movie gives a balanced and intelligent overview of the unenlightened and morally corrupt state of food production in the US. We can change this if we want to!!

Unlike a Michael Moore film, FOOD INC. Does not orchestrate the facts to fit Robert Kenner's (the film maker) politics. A few humungous multinational corporations control and produce our food. The changes in food production are highly detrimental to our health. The extent to which the Food Producers are able to contol the FDA, EPA and the highest political offices including the President and Supreme Court are both sad and shocking. However, we are left with hope. By standing up, we can eventually prevail as we did against the Tobacco Companies. This thorogh and riveting documentary should be seen and acted on by everyone. DO NOT MISS THIS FILM!

This is a great movie, and I really like movies that make you think and question what's going on. Well done!

Please fix the summary for this movie. It refers to "our nation", but it is referring to the United States. While the Canadian system is not much better, I feel strongly that distinction should be made. Thank you, Heidi Verheul (resident of Halifax, NS)

Great movie. Not only did it provide some insight into the current state of the food industry, but it contributes a message of what we, as consumers, can do to change it.

There was lots of information regarding the food industry. Almost made me become a vegetarian. Didn't know all the awful ways the chickens and cows are kept.

This should change the way you eat - in a good way! It's time to strip away the nonsense 'fed' to us by the food industry and learn what's best for us.

Nothing really new if you come from Europe where consumers tend to be more critical... Still a good message and an eye-opener for some in particular re the extent of this sick development. By merely pointing the finger at "evil companies" like Monsanto and coming up with simple solutions (if people would have to pay the real, unsubsidized price for fast food, they would automatically start making healthier food choices) the author missed the chance to include the bigger problems like overpopulation.

Despite it's obvious agenda, and a vague "conspiracy-theory" feel that precommits to finding malfeasance, I found the film compelling, if somewhat nausea-inducing. Do you really want to know what your food has gone through before eating it. If so, I recommend that you see this on an empty stomach.

Fantastic film! Oscar-worthy documentary about the plight of the food supply in America. This is not a bubble-gum sophomoric effort, but a gritty, often disturbing exposé of the issues facing the small farmers struggling against the multi-national corporations, the workers, and the consumers who unknowingly buy unsafe & unhealthy food. The cinematography is wonderful, and the movie is well-filmed. My fiancé and I went for "date night" and were glued to the screen. Well worth the price of the ticket for the valuable information you will walk out of the theatre with and be talking about for a week. MUST SEE!

I only wish everybody had to watch it. It's the most important subject matter for North Americans to deal with, and unfortunately most people who see this, aren't the people who necessarily NEED to see it.

Eye opener! Always fascinating to see how politics get intertwined in ruling for big corporations. Clarence Thomas should have reclused himself from the Monsanto ruling. Where were the other Supreme Court judges.

Incredible garbage from the folk who brought you An Inconvenient Truth. Food production and processing have to be conducted on an industrial scale, otherwise few of us would be able to afford it. Subsistence pop-and-mom farmers cannot feed the world. Technology makes the difference betwen a loaf of bread at $1.99 and $7.50. Factory food is just as safe if not safer than organic. Google 'safe food inc.' for actual facts.

Paints the big picture on how our food system is being controlled by agribusiness -- putting our health, environment and even some liberties at risk. Kudos to the director and other committed people interviewed in the documentary for taking action to educate the rest of us and regain control of our food.

I didn't know this before going to see it, but this movie is based on the book The Omnivore's Dilemma. If you've read it already, then you might find this movie a little redundant. It was still interesting to actually see what the super-farms and abbatoirs look like. We should all know where our food comes from.

This is the first movie I have ever rated a '10'. At the end of the presentation, the entire audience just sat there as if stunned by what we had just witnessed. Several people were crying or fighting back tears. It is an honest and devastating indictment of modern agri-business. Go see this movie and make up your own mind.

Go and see it! Very thought provoking and factual. It's shocking to discover what occurs to create your dinner plate, fast food meal, etc. This movie will make you think twice the next time you make your choices at the grocery store or restaurant.

I am the daughter of a very health concious-new edge father who eats only raw (vegetables, fruit, dehydrated grains) so going in I already knew much of this - but the way it is put together... and some of the people interviewed will FOREVER change your outlook on food. PLEASE go see!

Nothing new here. I was expecting to find out what is in our food in terms additives, chemicals... etc. Instead it was one of those "scandalous" movies about big business controlling the food industry. Wanted to walk out. If you watch the discovery channel or similar channels you will not learn anything new. People need to remember that it matters not if the food industry is controlled by 4-5 big players. What counts is what goes in the food. Also, the focus on the slaughter houses was too narrow.

I was expecting to leave this movie totally disgusted. I was definitely disgusting, but has a positive message overall. We have the power to change things and although the food companies have the power, we, the consumer, have more. Highly recommended.

This documentary provides and interesting, alarming, eye opening and thought provoking look at at the food we eat, how it is produced and at what cost to the enviroment and our own health. This is an important film with a morsel of hope offered at the end. Put down the burger and go see it now!
