Biggest piece of crap I've ever sat through in my entire life! Just another randomized, action over-packed flick where we don't get a chance to know the characters! Don't waste your time nor your money, you hear?

Have you seen The Running Man? If so, then you've seen way better than Gamer. The storyline is bad, flawed. The action sequences are lacking, unclear. The acting is... well... not sure what I expected, but it's pretty bad when Ahnold does a better and more convincing job in a similar movie!!! And John Leguizamo is in the movie about the same amount of time as he is in the trailer!!! 5/10, so, so, worth it if you don't pay... maybe... if you are easy to please and have very low expectations!

The idea behind the movie Gamer is great and could have been a good movie. Unfortunately, this movie was horrible. I don't know what else to say. I'm a really easy person to please when it comes to movies but this was a great disappointment. Rent it or bootleg it online, but dont pay full price for it.

I honestly thought it was garbage, terrible acting, bad plot honestly horrific. I'd actually pay not to see it.

I loved it. Out of all the movies that came out that week, I can truly say that this one was the best.

What a stupid movie! At least Michael C Hall performs. The story is non sense at all. I was expecting more great action but everything was just a war with lot of bomb explosions.

It was ok which means not good but not horrible just ok. It is a little hard to follow and very violent. The acting was ok you know what that means. Worth seeing on the big screen on a cheap movie night.

The concept is brilliant, probably along the lines of upcoming movie Surrogates and with Grit like "Death Race" I personally love the way the movie was shot, if your epileptic or get dizzy easily probably best you don't see it. The first 2/3 of the movie I thought were really really good well drawn out, I think the last 1/3 of the movie was rushed incredibly especially the end scene like the ran out of creative steam and or money. The Effects, the Easter eggs, the concept and the Action, as well as the decent story line get this movie a (7/10) Good Movie, Worth Seeing. Rushed ending hold it back from a 8,9 or 10. P. s definitely not appropriate for children aside from violence there was nudity every easily every 5-10 minutes.

0.5/10 for being an action, 1/10 for showing several good ideas and views of our possible "World of Tomorrow", and 1.5/10, because I am a gamer. It did sort of followed the same concept as Bladerunner (loved it) and Death Race (kinda liked it), but it lacked something very important: STRUCTURE. I don't mind endless scenes of hardcore, gory and bloody action in a movie, as long as they all hold together perfectly. This movie however, doesn't know if it's a story with violence or a compilation of random clips of exploding people which held together by a similar "plot" (no, I'm not talking about porn), so in the end, it's neither, just another poor movie with no transitions between weird scenes. And it's sad that some good ideas were mixed in with tons of bad ones. And also, what a shame for the title... they should've called it "Slayers" (no, I wasn't going to call it "Crappy #@$?! Action the Movie", although it's not that bad lol) But on the plus side (surprised? Me too), the action scenes were pretty good and were well filmed. And also, being a gamer myself, especially online, I liked the little Easter eggs left in the movie to show that it's about 3rd-person shooting games and online gameplay. (SPOILER ALERT) I kinda liked the teabagging part, pretty funny, but what I personally loved was all the "quick swaps" to pistol that Kable did, and, why not, all the headshots that he made lol. VERDICT: pretty bad movie, don't waste your money for the big screen, but it's not 100% horrible, and if you like games, specifically online shooters (and/or SIM games like Second Life), it is definitely NOT a must-watch movie but if someday you have absolutely nothing else to watch at home, rent it, you won't like it very much but at least a creepy girl won't step out of your TV and kill you...

Most reviews I've read so far said this movie was ultra violent with alot of gore and alot of nudity. Nudity is part of the whole movie. As for violence and gore, I have seen worse movie in this department, which means it's not disgusting. I like the concept, and I must say they did a pretty good job with the scenario, bringing what the future of internet in our society could become on a big screen. I guess this movie is of no appeal to people who have never played an online video game, or have never been part of the 'online society', for they have no idea of what the world hidden behind our computer's screen may hold. The movie depicts a world with less humanity, where fantasies become reality, where there is no limit to feeling the most extreme emotions a human could feel. All in all, I liked the movie and the ideas it holds. The action is good, but not great. The story is kind of weak, and I didn't feel anything for the characters, which is a big failure to me. Good movie in its genre, but there have been better movies with similar scenarios.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This was a great movie. Great action sequences. I like the idea but I kind of hoped that the controller didn't know that the player was actually real at first and then later found out. Great acting by Hall. VR better be coming to us soon. I want to live in this world. I like that they actually make you feel like you're in a VR world with the upgrades and flak jackets and such. I know it won't appeal to everyone (esp women and older folks) , but seriously. If you're not smart enough to figure out that a movie by the name of "Gamer" is gonna be about video games then you shouldn't be bothering us with your [...] opinion. Thanks and Have a Great Day :)

Sex and violence, good enough for me. That fat guy eating waffles really creeped me out. I felt sick after seeing that scene. For what it was I think they did a decent job.

People, get over the fact that it had sex and violence. If you don't like that sort of thing don't go see it, read the synopsis before you leave your house. If this movie had nothing but talking and told nothing but the story everyone would have had the same tone, that it sucked. Look beyond whats in front of you and see what's behind all your criticism. It's about a persons freedoms and rights.

Ok, So admittedly I was looking forward to this movie. I generally read these reviews to determine the value of seeing a movie in a theatre vs renting or simply avoiding it. After seeing this movie I have the following to tell you. 1. The plot needed to be flushed out more. It had good premise however there are elements of it that were simply unnecessary. Case in point, the entire "society" aspect of the film (you will better understand once you see it) I found this element a little too sexual for an action film and not exactly what I would expect to be in a shooter flick. 2. Yes there was a lot of violence, but remember you are watching a movie about a gamer controlling a convicted murderer on death row who has to kill his way to freedom... what exactly are you expecting... be realistic. This portion was fast paced and well done. 3. The acting was average... anyone who ever even mentions Oscar in the same sentence as action movie generally needs their head checked and you should disregard their review in my opinion. It is what it is... Overall, it was disjointed, vaguely interesting and needed the script to be reread to earn a higher rating and is on par with Condemned and 12 Rounds Wait to rent it. That's my two cents worth.

Well, maybe if I were a 12 years old boy who didn't see Running Man, I'd give it a 6. But I'm a 31 years old man who wasn't impressed at all. Too bad they don't issue refunds when movies are this bad.

Not a bad movie overall, although the ending was a little weak. Story is about evolution of Internet and gaming. References to pitfalls of cybersex (from the late 90's) as visualized by an overweight wheelchair bound pervert running an Icon (read: Avatar) of the main character's wife. Also view of possible evolution of such MMORPGs as Halo etc. (depicted by the Slayers Game of which Butler is the star) and Second Life (depicted by the "Society" game) All made possible through the use of implanted/injected nanobots which provide Wireless UI for people willing to pay to control their Avatars/Icons. The economically disadvantaged people (read: Poor / on welfare) get to rent out their bodies to be the Icons that the idle rich pay to control. The evil genius who created all this is, of course, out to remake the world into his own twisted playground.

A good story - a gamer's 1984. Good production values, lots of violence, some sexy scenes and a message to all about how easy it is to give up our freedom to those who are able to define everyone else's life. Also a love story and a classic battle of good vs evil. Forward looking sc-fi that depicts a not impossible future for us all.

I thought the action was good, but was extremely disappointed overall because I did not go to the theatre to see porn. That's basically what half the movie consisted of. Extremely visual bloody action, which could have been toned down and the main focus of the storyline. It felt like they rush through the action to flash more porn on the screen. Ugh.

The movie concept looked interesting, like a matrix type movie. However, it was boring and dumb and way too violent. My friend said it was bad and she was right. There should be a 0 category as a 1 is too high.

A bit choppy but it felt like a videogame - the ending was a bit of a let down - a bit too easy and of course again it's about a woman and a kid - how many times have we seen this? It's never about the big picture, it's always extremely personal... protecting your own and noone else...

The movie looked interesting. The idea of someone controling a life of an other and living without interest over their safety or well-being made me curious. I think I enjoyed 1/3 of the movie... the other parts were just there to fill out the emptyness of the movie...

I was torn between giving it a 5 or a 6 and since I like Gerard Butler I was swayed into giving it a 6. It has enough action, but the story is sorely lacking. How sad. I think his next movie will be 10 times better according to previews. This one, sadly, will be easily forgotten. Oh well!
