This was not a good movie. I think if they plan to do another Star Trek movie they should really think about hiring some writers with story ideas and a view of the future. As a very long time Star Trek fan I hope they can do more that pump out pablum to sell to all of us long-term fans.

Yes I am sorry to say I saw Star trek Genesis... worst Star trek movie ever done. Not even worthy of the name star trek. Now they killed off the only living android known in the alpha quadrant. They made too many errors in that movie. First Laforge's eyes are back to implants after they became normal in Insurection. Second since when would the high security Tal Shiar allow the assasination of their senate for a Piccard wanna be? The only thing that would make sence would be if section 31 who have an agent in the tal shiar or the tal shiar itself would have done the whole thing to get their hands on data. For them to save in the next movie..

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This installment had SO MUCH potential, but bad dialogue, and a badly directed ending ruin any hopes of this one. Data's death should of been much more involved, not just a 5 minute wrap up, with the hope that B-4 will become Data, or learn from his memory chip. Data was the most loved character of the series, and they did not do him justice. Terrible opening scene with the wedding, and since when did Romulas become so easy to take over? Saddem Hussein could of pulled off that takeover. Misguided and dissappointing. Lets hope, the next star trek will be "the search for data" or they find some way to bring him back. They did it with Spock, they can do it with Data. He deserves better, and lets get a worthy director while we are at it. The last Trek needs to bring closure and satisfaction, like a Federation / Klingon / Borg showdown. Excuse my ignorance, but did Q die? Why has he not been in any of the movies, as he was always a worthy adversary. And is Lore (Data's evil brother) dead? Where are the real bad guys? Lets hope for a real script and a better ending.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Yes, I saw it. The only part that touched me in any way was when Data died. I was upset that they didn't even give him more time in the movie for a "proper" rememberance ceremony. To me, Data's death and Spock's death was like looking through a mirror... both gave their lives for a ship and so others could live. They both had been searching through the stars for a more concrete explanation of why they existed and what their purpose was in life. They sought for the answer to this (to quote a very good saying).. Is this all that I am? Is there nothing more? The movie didn't feel 'Star Trek' to me. Paramount needs to look for different writers for both the movies and their books. Something has become lost along their trek through the gathering of the almighty dollar. Give us a real Star Trek movie, like we used to get in the olden days and let Leonard Nimoy direct it.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] For those of you who are confused about Worf being on Enterprise, he was there because of Riker and Troi's wedding... were you sleeping? And for others who don't think much of the movie, I just think it's because you expect too much... alright I'm a trekkie but that doesn't make me the kind of person who would like a Star Trek movie if it wasn't good, But this was great! I admit it was a bit repetitive and there were somethings left unexplained at the end, but other than that I enjoyed watching this movie.

It seemed more like a television episode rather than a movie which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. If you use a coupon, it's not that terrible for $1.50 or less. Some of the effects looked cheap, such as the Romulans and the dune buggy. I'm not a trekkie nutcase but I've seen almost all the movies and while this wasn't as good as First Contact, if you're a fan, you'll see no matter what anyone says.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Worst Star Trek movie ever after the Final Frontier. It was just a lame rip off from Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock put together. Unless it was on an alternate time-line, how come Lore is not mentioned? The imminent demise of Shinzon is also lame with all that technology at hand; if he really needed unaltered DNA from Picard, all he needed was less blood than he volunteered at their first encounter, and he got that much when he first captured Picard. I hate it when they ignore the state of the art scientific facts of the timeframe to make up a lame story. Star Trek was all about consistency in prolonging the suspension of disbelief and it was lost in this movie too early. This movie was as bad as Event Horizon in terms of Sci-Fi content. The car chase was totally juvenile, and where were the shields against archaic projectile weapons. They almost died there were it should have never happened. A Star Trek movie should not try to top-up and over do stunts we see in a Bond movie; Bond movies have stunts because they don't have transporter technology and the like (although there was an optical cloak in the last one!) And how about the bulky display panels with vents behind them? Right off the shelf from a 21st Century electronic store. Quite dissapointing to see that we will be stuck with LCD or plasma screens for the next 300+ years. Inconsistencies everywhere.

I have been a Trekker as far back as I can remember (TOS) TNG was even better, DS9 things started going south. Voyager was a joke. Enterprise may grow into itself. Not going to review the movies, too many of them. What I am saying is I am a longtime, hardcore ST fan. And I am VERY disappointed, and angry. Nemesis, a generations final journey. The WORST Star Trek ever, movie or series. A sad way for a 30+ year legend to die.

This is definitely not a movie for non-trekkies. The ending of the film will really impact you if you have been following the ST: NG throughout all its seasons and movies, otherwise the importance of the message is lost I think to other people. The 9/10 I give it is really because of my own experiences with ST: NG and the other series, and what this "finale" means to me.

Not the best but not the worst. This is Star Trek for dummies, reformated to fit your mind and to attract even the dumbest tarts out there to see stuff blow up. There were many inconsistencies with previous STNG episodes, for exemple Data knew Dr. Seung made droids before him. I was also surprised they didn't mention Lore even once. And the end pissed me off... An average Sci-Fi flick with ST plastered all over it. Doesn't take much to sell something. Watch it and weep..

Good movie for any diehard Star Trek fans. Again the caramaderie between the crew is well explored. Captain Picard & Data are the main characters in this latest instalment. Again the possibility of a previous ennemy becoming an ally is used. Is this a twist to be expanded in any future movies? Time will only tell. I have heard that this may be the end of the TNG movies in order to pass on the baton to the Voyager crew. I do hope that this movie was the swan song for Captain Picard's crew.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I've seen all the Trek movies, most of them many times and have been and still am a big fan of the TV shows (well, lets not mention the horrible Enterprise.) All that considered, I thought that Nemesis was below average. The story was flimsy, the mood of the whole film was just not in keeping with the spirit of Trek, the cinematography was questionable, the soundtrack didn't fit, some of the performances were very lazy... Worf, Beverley, even Data... Picard just came across as being very weary, having lost some of his old fire that made him the ass-kicking captain from the TV show. And let's not talk about Riker who looked like he was struggling to stay awake throughout the movie. Should have killed him off not Data. I didn't feel any emotion at all when Data bit the Thaylorian Radiation which is a shame because he's always been my very favourite Trek character. The first hour of this movie was almost painful. It took the entire hour before I even began to get remotely interested in what was happening. The last 40 minutes or so did pick up a bit thankfully but not enough to rescue the movie from mediocrity. Too bad because it could have been so much more.

I loved this movie from beginning to end. I don't know why all the bad reviews but to each his own. This was one of my favourite of the series and I don't believe this is the last one as they say it is. There is great wit and very serious & thought provoking parts as well. The only complaint I do have is where did they come up with that nasty music?!! There are some scenes that take place on the bridge where this is communication and in the back ground is this God awful music that is absolutly out of place. Other then that... fantastico!

I am quite surprised to read all the negative reviews on Star Trek: Nemesis. I found the movie to be excellent. It is up there with "First Contact", "The Undiscovered Country" and "The Wrath Of Khan". Yes, the movie was slow at first but it was setting up the story and a good story it was. Keeping with Star Trek tradition, recent societal issues were raised. Once all that was out of the way, watch out!!! The action begins and it was non-stop until the very end. Overall, an excellent movie with fantastic visuals, great stroy and lots of action. A must see for all Trek fans out there.

Hi! Salut! I loved the movie, it has a wonderful feeling, we can finaly see the caracters move on with their lives (riker becoming captain) , as well as dramatic changes (the death of my favorite caracter) It is uplifting to know that, Shinzon in all respect to Picard, could be what Picard would of become. That is why I believe he is frozen to see is conterpart kill himself, because that could of esaly been him. And even if it was a movie for the fans... if your not one you will enjoy it!

I enjoyed Nemesis in that we finally got to see things from the TNG crew that we never saw before. It was also good in that it answered some on going questions that fans of the show may have heard or wondered. Such as the relationship of Troi and Riker. And the lifespan of Data. Though for some it may have brought up more questions which could just be inconsistancies with the show though it does leave more openings for future shows or movies. Much anticipation was made over the Romulans finally making a big screen début. Being one of the Federations oldest rivals their appearance was long overdue, and in the end we finally get hints at the resolution of the Federation/Romulan coldwar. By showing that, through mutual interest and need, beings, either human or not, can resolve their differences to fight for a better future. I think it was a pretty good ending, if it is actually to be the last installment, to the most loved Star Trek series. I would personally and I'm sure many other fans would also like to see more. Having a long time fan of the show, play a big part in the writting process of the story really paid off. I really enjoyed the final battle between the Enterprise and the Scimitar. It was nice and long and drawn out. Complete with background voices of crew members acrambling about to keep systems working and reporting on the status of various systems. We were able to better see the effects of a long battle between 4 ships. It was exciting to finally see the Enterprise go all out with it's weapons. We've seen her do some damage in the show and other movies but it was nice to finally see her truly defend herself. Like in the Dominion Wars of DS9 where we got to actually see some good ship vs ship action. The failing of key systems kept the suspense building until the climactic ending. The only big quarrel I have isn't directly related to the movie, and that is that this is supposedly the last Star Trek movie. I could say more about the aspects of Star Trek's roll in philosophy, humanity and life, Which is one of if not the biggest reasons why I love Star Trek, but I'm sure many of us already now it's roll and besides the second review, by kuni@... , on this board already went into some detail with that. If your a Star Trek fan go see the movie. If your a true Trekkie you've MORE than likely have already seen it, probably the first day, like myself, or week it came out. I would recommend seeing Nemesis to anybody. As you don't really need to know much or anything about the show in order to understand and enjoy it. Anyone that likes Sci-fi, Suspense, Action or Dramas will probably enjoy Star Trek: Nemesis..

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I'll admit, I entered the theatre a bit hesitantly. Insurrection made me tear up (not because of its beauty, but because I wasted 2 hours of my life watching it) , so I expected Nemesis to be similarly poor. The beginning seemed to meet my low expectations; the wedding scene was almost painful to watch, and the humour was so weak I didn't even smile. As the movie continues, however, the plot picks up considerably. Despite some inconsistencies with the series (as has been mentioned here) , the writers seem to be focussing on existentialism. The contrast of Data/B4 and Picard/Shinzon explores the very essence of Star Trek: what is the definition of "humanity? " It is interesting to contemplate that by the film's definition, Data is more human than Shinzon. Shinzon himself is an interesting character, perhaps more 3-D than villains we've seen in the past. He seems truly interested in Picard for more than DNA at the beginning of the movie; his reaction to Picard at the end is reminiscent of a betrayed son. I rather enjoyed this stance on the nature vs. Nurture debate; Shinzon believes that his nurture caused his brutality, while Picard, at the end, accepts that Shinzon could have overcome that if he had chosen to "better" himself. This is an interesting political and philosophical standpoint. Star Trek has always had morals, but this seemed more complex than previous TNG movies. Anyone who says that it is "unpolitical" should analyse the storyline a bit better. The Nature/Nurture debate is the base of political ideologies. The definition of humanity presented in this film gives rise to political debates: should those who try to better themselves be given more respect than those who try to better others? Is there a way to help someone "better" themself, or must that change come from within? It seems that the overall concensus of the film is that everyone should be given the chance and skills to better themselves (eg: B4 given Data's memories) : this is open to political interpretation. Does this mean we should help the poor, the hungry, the uneducated, so that they may "better" themselves -- or, should we only help those who seek to do so? Moving along: many fans have complained that Nemesis would be fine on small screen. I'm not sure why this statement is made; perhaps because there aren't massive explosions and huge special effects?.. I would argue that First Contact had few special effects relative to modern movies, as well. Perhaps because the story line focussed on Data and Picard and their humanity, and ignored several other cast members? This, I could see. Warf is almost non-existent except as comic relief, and other 'major' characters such as Troy, Crusher, Geordie, and Riker have small roles. In this sense, it was like a visual "short story, " focussing on very few characters and events so the characters can be well-developed. While I appreciated this, I can understand how many fans would be disappointed. The music was stellar. After movies like the latest 007, Harry Potter, and TLotR (which all had atrocious/overdramatic/over-repeated music) , this was a refreshing change. I may even consider buying the soundtrack. O_o;;; I wish that they had the guts to kill of Riker instead of Data.) _ (This "recycled" plot point (from Spock's death) brought back more nostalgia than disgust from me. And that's all I'll say about that. While there are many flaws in this movie, I'm going to give it an 8.5 (rounded up to 9) , simply because of the debate opened up by the movie's political statements. No other Trek movie has created such long political discussions in my everyday life and on the discussion forums I visit (nerd!) To me, a movie that entertains, then allows long discussions, is a movie worth seeing. I say this is the 2nd best TNG film after First Contact, but I enjoyed this one more than even FC. I guess everything just worked well for me. ^_~.

Definitely different in tone then the previous Star Trek movies, containing a cool car chase, lots of phaser shoot-outs, and of course the best villain since Khan, that being Captain Jean-Luc Picard's clone, Shinzon of Remus. All the main characters had something to contribute, some more than others, but none were forgotten. Guinan and Wesley Crusher even make very brief cameos."You're too slow, old man." -Shinzon.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Now that the Star Trek series of films is over (in TNG theme anyway) (or so we are lead to believe) lets look back: Star Trek: First Contact, not too bad, quite good in my mind. Star Trek: Insurrection, even better, a good movie. Now with Star Trek: Nemesis you'd expect it to be better than the previous two right? Wrong. This movie was... well, if it was a car it would be stuck in neutral. The movie was hardly original and lacked anything new or exciting. It was the same old Star Trek, not that I have anything against that, I just find it to be tedious. It was still a good movie, but just not up to the fun and wacky Star Trek callaber we're used to. Some parts were great though, die hard trekkies will cry at the end when they kill of Data (my favourite character, played great by Brent Spiner) Speaking of the acting let me say this: the same good stuff from the same guys, the same crap from the same guys, they know who they are. Maybe check it out in theatres, but if you're strapped for cash, wait for the DVD release or something. Stuart Baird, close but no Romulan ale.

Inspite of the flaws Star Trek: Nemesis, it is a great movie. I have been a Trekkie right from the very first Star trek on TV and Like others have seen all the Trek Movies. They all have merrit. They to their credit added new features and ideas to this movie such as Captian Picard driving a Dune Buggy in the Desert, Who said they couldn't drive a regular non warp ground vehicle anyways, that added a bit of the human element, great. Had the cloned evil likeness Of Captian Picard been an evil entity from a distant galaxy trying to distroy Earth and the Federation and pited the entire crew togother would of been ok. The one thing I thought was great was when Dianna Troy used some powers she never really used on previous adventures, that was a very good sequence. What it is lacking I think is originality. In this one and that is the key to all great sequels, continue the saga but be original, set out where no one has gone before, seek out new adventures, expand upon the capabilities of the New Enterprise E. Add new and exciting characters, do not kill off the most interesting character, you know the one Data, he had lots of potential yet, and not leave a non inteligent toy Data in his place, I found that disappointing. I also wanted to see Dianna and Riker fly off into the sun set on their new Ship the Titan, would have left a feeling that we would see them again.

Did the writers of the latest Star Trek film even see the TV show? Whatever happened to the prime directive? Let's just land on a pre-warp world and start shooting at people, because that's the Star Trek way. (? As if!) Also, those are not the Romulans we know. Where's Spock's underground movement? Where's Tasha Yar's daughter? I found this movie utterly predictable, boring, and inconsistent with the foundations layed out by the TV series. I'm really disappointed, because I am SUCH a Trekkie...

A great addition to the Star Trek collection because of the action, intensity, and the classic science and mystery that accompanies most Star Trek films. I liked the involvement of stars from other Star Trek's like Voyager, and I also liked how they followed the timeline from what we knew of The Next Generation and perhaps were always wondering the outcome of. What I didn't like was slight lack of adventure. By this I mean toward the middle-end it seems to be too drawn out and left people wondering when it was going to get on with it. I also didn't like the very end because I like to feel good and usually the endings make me feel happy and therefore making a hell of a good movie. But what can I say? I'm a Star Trek fan all the way and will probably always be.
