The girls in this movie are so stupid. Not much action either.

The extended start was a way of the audience actually bonding with the characters. To many horror films nowadays just get straight into the horror scenes without any development of character, (you don't care if they get killed) this film you actually do. I believe it was very well made and actually did what it wanted to do, have sympathy for the victims.

Bad bad bad... I owed my husband big time after dragging him to see this and we like the same type of movies!

I really don't understand why the rating is so low for this movie. I'm a big horror fan and I loved this movie. The action only starts 30 min before the ending but that doest mean that the first hour is boring. I think that the movie was made that way so that you really get to know the characters and actually like them so when the action begins, you really feel their pain. The whole movie is very realistic, I thought I was watching a reality show (a good one!! ) because the acting was good, very natural actors. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is expecting more than blood and gore from a horror movie.

Starts off very slow but when it gets into it it gets very intense with very good violence and a great ending, could have used more substance in the first half hour however.

I thought this was going to be a werewolf movie. It started out slow and drew me into the characters. I thought this would be good. I was impressed by the vast landscape photography early on in the movie. It reminded me of a David Lean epic! But then this psycho Crocodile Dundee guy shows up and it just turns into this torture movie like Saw or Hostel, 'Hostel Lite' actually. These sadistic films are in vogue right now and its a shame. Films like this are not scary as they don't tap into the subconscious fears we have like ghosts, devils and monsters do. This was an extremely violent, sadistic and brutal movie. It was grotesque and pointless.

This was a very good movie and much better than I expected. I am not a great fan of the modern slasher movie as it is extremely boring to see characters you care nothing about being chased and killed almost from the first minute into the film. In this movie you actually get to know the characters before anything exciting happens. The scenery is great, the acting is good, and there is more than enough gore and suspense. [...]

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] It wasn't really a horror flick, but more a movie about a psychopath. These things can actually happen. Scarier than hostel for that reason. Maybe people didn't like it because it didn't have a happy ending like most américain movies.

Very slow to start. Got a little more interesting as the movie progressed, but definitely not what the previews made it out to be. I was expecting something a little different.

OK really boring movie with about 10 to 20 minutes of action. No need to watch, except the guy is really good looking.

While not offering much to elaborate on the 'survival-horror' genre, many movies have failed to mimic the genius of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills have eyes, and the other films that paved the way. This film however manages to stay creepy and is a tribute to one of the best.

I have mixed feelings about this movie, I can't really tell someone that they have to go see it, b/c it's more like if you want to see this movie you will. I'm not going to recommend this movie, but I'm not going to NOT recommend it, b/c it is worth seeing if you like scary movies. I only go to the movies to see thrillers / suspense / horror movies, b/c then it's definitely worth $10. This movie starts out slow, but give it a chance if you think it's worth it.

If you like HIGH TENSION & WRONG TURN go see WOLF CREEK. Quite a trip, I am a horror enthusiast and thought the movie was well filmed and the ride it takes you is fun. Worth seeing. Not your Hollywood style horror. Back to basics suspence.

This movie was one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen. It is not even worth it's 18+ rating there was not that much violence and wat there was was not impressive. The movie moved too slow and when the actual good part came along it was too quick to even notice. The saw movies were much better and worth the violence and psychotic suspence it brings to the viewers. I was not impressed at all by this film even if it was based on true events, would not recommended to anyone. [...]

The plot was not very solid. The worst part was if you are get motion sick easily. My wife and I left as we both felt sick due to the lazy camera work. What is with these movies that think amateur camerawork is good? This movie was horrible. It lacked.

Good debut for a first time director although a little overly done with some of the violence. Leaves some real loose ends on the story but on the whole a pretty good horror / suspense / thriller flick. Crocodile Dundee's bad cousin? Always good to see real life stories, but this one went a little far with the poetic license. Good for a matinee or DVD rental, but don't spend the the $$ for the evening shows.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I read so many bad reviews about this film before I saw that I was expecting something tripe and boring. What a surprise! This movie actually is good. Of course you have to get rid of that Hollywood mentality where you expect the good to win out in the end leaving you superficially satisfied. First off this is a true story. The actors, whoever they are, were amazing. It was as if someone had turned on a camera and we were watching real life events take place. Hitchcock once said that real horror is when bad things happen to normal people and bad things happpened to these young kids who went out in the Australian outback. The brilliance of the movie happens when we actually get to decide whether the story that was told was real or not. Whether or not the bad guy really existed or not. It makes you think and that's why I now realize that all of the bad reviews must have been from people who probably leave their brains at the door of the Cinema each and every time expecting special effects and your typical Friday 13th or Halloween fare. Once again, Boo!

I was scared as well as bored in this one. I have to say I am on the fence about it. So a 5 out of 10 is a fair rating. I am not a huge fan of horror movies but I went with my husband anyway. This in no way turned me into a fan. I miss the old fashioned just plain scary movies. Alfred Hitchcock was a master. This is just hollywood's need for money. There was a time when movies were done for the audience not the stockholders.

DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO ANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS! If you're a true horror/suspense film fan you will love this movie... the build-up serves to build the suspense; it works for the film... the acting is excellent, the interaction between characters is realistic and the grittiness sets the mood... well done!

Unfortunately, not scary, not exciting, and not very interesting. Wannasee a ho-hum "horror" flick? This is it. Only redeeming feature was the cinematic close-up style that showed us the vacationing characters having "candid" fun in the beginning. Not much to extoll...

Good thriller, worth seeing for sure. Will keep you awake the entire time. Don't forget it's based on a true story. The only thing is, how have they found out the real story to make the movie, after you'll see it, you will wonder the same.

Not a bad movie, something different at the theatres "right now", but however has been over done too many times.. ! Cry Wolf, Wrong Turn just a typical simple "horror" movie, nothing more. If you don't feel up to green screen movies and are really bored, check it out...

Atmospheric, great visuals and cinematography, interesting storyline plus good acting made this a great film to see! Some may think it takes awhile to build to the main premise, but when it does, you won't be disappointed! Anyone who thinks this film is garbage, I wouldn't understand, especially given what we have been given to see on the big screen lately of films of this genre... A great suspense thriller! Enjoy!

Lame effort... it was expected. And to read that q. Tarantino endorsed this film saying it's 'amazing etc'.. makes me laugh. Many filmmakers dont understand that blood spilling and flesh shredding and eye exploding doesnt all necessarily create a psycho horrific experience. It's more of a disgusting, vulgar feeling u get out of it. Reminds me of Rob zombie's lastest film. That was another not horrific but horrible film. If u are a fan of horror (psycho horror) film, watch takashi miike's Audition (good example of how/when to use 'flesh cutting' scenes) there are plenty good horror films out there... u just have to seek them!!

Good movie! Very gory and scary! Yes a lot of ppl say its crap, but if you start to analyse every movie that is made, you will find flaws I guarantee you. And yes there are flaws in this movie: the characters, some scenes, the way things go, and even the ending. But If you just watch it through the eyes of a child who wants to enjoy a movie, you will like it. Don't except too much from this movie, but if you like blood, goryness, fear, and tension, you will be satisfied! The scenes are hardcore horror, and you will be thrilled by what you see. So happy scare, go see it!
