This movie feels as if someone had taken an imax camera in a helicopter, flew around aimlessly for a couple days and then stitched together the resulting footage into a random series of clips. Seeing that it had no point, he then hired a 12-year-old who had never heard of Greece before to write an equally aimless narrative. There are many factual errors in the narrative, and many muddy generalizations that a trip to the library would have fixed. I wonder if they might have budgeted better by spending less on helicopter time and a bit more on a real writer. And a researcher. If you really, really, really like fly-overs, this is a fine film. Otherwise, it's awful.

Geiasou, I'm Greek and not impressed. You want to see Greek history, go to Greece. You want to understand the culture? Go live there. Greek democracy, no such thing in todays world. Best example, Bush & his idea of democratic U. S. A. Enough said, free film, go see it. If you have to pay, don't go! Efharisto.

Democracy, Democracy, Democracy, that's all that miss big fat greek wedding narrator kept repeating. We got it, now tell us more about Atlantis, Plato, Socrates, and the history of the wars. I learned how a volcano errupts and a day in the life of a Greek archeologist, but nothing about Greece's rich history. I saw so many Greek flags in every scene, I forgot what my own country's flag looks like! Oh well, hope the next documentary that Imax will present will be much more eduacationally and historically stimulating.

If you are expecting a documentary, don't go see this. If you are expoecting to learn something, don't go see this. If you want to be imerssed in greek culture, don't go see this. Now if you want bad narration, go see this. If you like long winded repeated flyovers, go see this. If you want to hear someone preahing about how great and totally awesome the greeks were to the known universe without having much to back it up, go see this. Seriously, this felt more like a puff piece on greek patriotism than anything else. I'd normally say avoid at all costs but the flyovers of the civilised areas was sorta cool. So out of 60 minutes of footage I enjoyed 2 minutes.

There was hardly any history in this "movie" and what was in there was inaccurate. It was more about preaching political points of view than about Ancient Greece.

Honestly... I am not sure it was even about greece. It was badly organized and confusing and lacked a real point.

Especially those sequences flying over water and cliffs at low altitude (helicopter) were excellent and made great use of the large IMAX screen.

The movie itself was good as a documentary but not that great as an IMAX. The only time you really got to see the movie at its' best was when the helicopter flew overhead and did some arial shots. Otherwise, not the best IMAX I've ever seen. We went to see an IMAX move but felt we were sitting in a theatre watching a regular documentary. Not as many special effects were used as we would have liked.

THE BEST SCENERY! Of course, its greece! But it really didnt get to the point it was trying to make it seemed. Just when it was getting good, it was over. I have seen better documentaries on tv just that those had commercials so you might miss it if you switch channels and in the theatre you cant channel surf. I loved the setting of the documentary but it left you wanting more. Not worth the price of admissoin though. Too expensive.
