Wonderful movie about the trials and tribulations of marriage and especially trust. Both Jeremy Northam and Rupert Everett were engaging and believable in their roles. Superb, clever comedy.

This movie is delicious. Full of emotional intrigue and 19th century protocol flaunted. The cast is inspired. Rupert Everett is really hitting his stride these days; Jeremy Northam is one of my favourite actors (see Emma, you'll agree); Julianne Moore is pathetically clever and cruel; Minnie Driver is hillarious, yet understated and Cate Blanchett is superb, as she always is, no matter how challenging the role is. I can not recommend this movie highly enough.

This a good movie. I did rave over "Shakespeare in Love", and as this movie is in a similar vein, I enjoyed it as well. Recommended.

I liked this movie. I thought it was the best comedy so far this year.

I was disappointed that it turned out to be an English comedy of error... I suppose that if you crave English movies and enjoy that genre, you may be pleased. However, if you did not RAVE about Shakespeare in Love, you will definitely not enjoy An Ideal Husband.

A wonderful light and intelligent comedy. A tribute to the eloquence and wit people used to have a hundred years ago. The characters are incredibly charming and totally believable. This movie almost makes me wish I'd lived as a late-nineteenth century gentleman in London. To see, absolutely.

Such a wonderful cast !!! Ruppert Everett is at his best, Minnie Driver shows a lot of potential, Cate Blanchett is delightful and Julianne Moore is just as perfect as ever. A deliciously funny comedy, recommended for all of you who feel that particular something for the British, the 19th Century, or Both (as I do ...).
