A feeling of wonder pervails thru out. Dramatic liscense was taken to make the story flow smoother. Life was not quite as exciting in real life for the characters in this movie, but still a wonderful feeling comes upon you. Go see it, tape it. You won't be sorry.

I love animals and this story shows determination and heart can go a long ways. It must have been a great inspiration for the people in the depression. Something for the little guys. It shows that money and power is not always the winning team.

I thought this would be a boring horse race show, boy was I wrong. Excellent character development and plot. I was riveted throughout the movie. Even knowing a little bit about history, I was captivated and surprised.

Fantastic movie. Truly stoytelling at its finest. Jeff Bridges does optomistic dreamer better than anyone (see Tucker, the man and his machine if you liked him here) Chris Cooper is fantastic as the trainer, and Tobey Maguire gives another stellar performance. What's great about true stories is that the twists they throw in are much more interesting and less predictable than typical movie fare.

I loved this movie and have been back to see it several times since. I dont understand how anyone can say that it is boring or stupid. You must have not been watching the movie or something. I can understand maybe some of the teens not getting it, but the first time I went there were people in the audience that were there at the race for Seabiscuit and it was amazing to hear them talk about it. It captured every essence of the story and what happened to this great horse and his rider. I loved the movie and even cried a few times. It will by it when it comes on video and hope that the spirit of this movie never dies. We stood and applauded at the end of the show when I saw it the first time, and the whole theatre cheered several times too.

This movie is a must see. It is by far the best movie I've seen all year so far. Jeff Bridges, and toby Maguire give superb performances, and the story is wonderful. This movie is probably not a movie the teenage crowd would like, because there are no blood and guts in it. It's a story for the adult crowd, If you go and see it make sure you bring some kleenex =) I rate this movie a 10.

See this and take an extra napkin with your popcorn... the whole theater came out sniffing and teary, myself included... nicely made movie - racing scenes are tremendous - didn't recognize Chris Cooper outside of his Lone Star role but great work in character; Tobey McGuire does a nice job with little to work with - but it's his work with the horses that are the best. Go see the documentary for an even better take.

OMG! This movie was totally awesome. It was a little bit slow in the beginning. After the movie finally got going it kicked butt. I was a little surprised that the jockey could ride so well even though he was blind in 1 eye. Yes, I know it's a movie but still. If your not that into horses or racing this probably won't be a good movie for you. But you should still go see it aniway!

I was so glad to see this movie still playing at first run cinemas. I did not walk to this movie I raced and must tell you I urge you to do the same as you are not likely to be disappointed. This movie is sure to be recognized at Oscar time and rightfully so. Perhaps Chris Cooper will get his second Ocard nod for two years in a row although Jeff Bridges could also be a sure contendor. Another category this movie could score in is for its cinematography. This movie glides across the screen and is dreamy and like a June frost on green turf. The story is not all about the horse. Its about the people who cared about the horse and stood by it when the rest of the world seemed not to care or didnt honor its memory. Seabiscuit was a living inspiration to the generation that endured the Depression and there is enough of metaphor surviving to this day for us to appreciate its message and come away feeling inspired. This movie instantly redeems a thousand bad Hollywood movies made that have left people with bad tastes in their mouths exiting theatres as if they have just been had. Seabiscuit exemplifies what the art of true Hollywood movie making is all about. It is as a large as life film as the 'little' horse that could story that it tells and doesnt miss any marks. It's the only movie I have seen all suummer and frankly the only one I would honestly recommend to the discriminating movie goer.

I don't know what it was about the moview that caused me to feel like I'd finished supper but was still hungry. It's obvious that every attempt was made to capture the spirit of the book on film. Jeff Bridges and Chris Cooper did an excellent job. Tobey McGuire was a little weak. Charles Howard's wife and George Wilson (one of the competing jockeys) were also well acted. The producers and writers missed the opportunity to include elements from the book (like Seabiscuit's companion horse) that would have added more depth and character to the movie. I appreciate the attempt at an intelligent movie aimed at people with a 3-digit IQ; sometimes I get the sense that these types of films are best left to the Brits (e.g. , Howard's End) or the French (e.g. , Jean de Florette)

Great camera angles, great story! Each of the major components of Seabiscuit's life was covered, which meant surprises all the way along. There was a little bit of history and humour in there that made it all the more interesting.

I loved this movie. It gives out a great message to anybody going through a tough spot in life that says, "You may be an underdog, but you gotta just keep fighting and hold on to faith, hope, and love". From now on that's what I'm gonna do, and I think everybody else should, too.
