AN adorable tale of love. With the English language at its best, one could hardly look away.

I love just about anything Tom Stoppard has written and this is no exception. Unlike the film Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead which Stoppard himself directed this movie has a real director and benefits greatly from it, the actors bring all the wit alive and this movie is a treat from beginning to end.

Gwyneth Paltrow definitely makes this movie!!! She is a great actress and deserved that oscar sooo much. More people need to appreciate the quality of Gwen's film more because she is and always will be the best actress of all time. She deserves more oscars. Ow and she is so much better off without that [...] Brad Pitt. She is way too beautiful and talented for him. Him and ugly Jennifer Aniston deserve each other and gorgeous Gwyneth deserves some1 as gorgeous and kind as Ben Affleck, I wish they'd get back together. Damn Jennifer Lopez. Gwyneth deserves soo much to find the right man and have a family because she is absolutey gorgeous!!!

Finally viewed the DVD of "Shakespeare in Love". WOW! What a production by Director John Madden. Extremely clever writing and exceptional acting by an allstar cast. Move over "Amadeus"!

A great movie, but hard to understand without previous knowledge of Shakespeare's plays. Well scripted, and educational. I would definitely reccomend this movie, especially if you are a Shakespeare fan or a theatre student.

I think thst this movies is soooooooo great, I love the whole story is just so.... so .... let's just say that this movies is for people that are very sentimental like I am, it just leaves you speechless throughout the whole film, it's filled with such passion and romance and... I just can't explain it. It's like it gives you such a fealing inside when you see Romeo & Juliet together it just shows that they have so much passion for each other that it could explode any minute. This movies gives you a message it saying that if you love someone so much don't let it go, because you don't realize how important something is to you until it leaves you, and that hurts a lot. In other words this movie is the greatest out of all the stories of Romeo & Juliet.

A fun, fun, fun movie. Gave me new respect for Paltrow, I must admit. The time-pieces and scenery were great and the characters were all well-defined and believable. Excellently thought out! Bring a date!

Very original (certainly not what I was expecting). A clever film, which says a great deal about today, though set in the 1500's. Admittedly, some parts were unrealistic. However, the film distinguishes itself from others by aiming at an audience slightly more intelligent than your average American movie (I believe Hollywood generally aims for a Grade 5 level of comprehension). It is certainly a film I would like to see again, as there is a lot to "catch" - and it is not just because of the British accent. On principle, I never give a movie a 10. So it only gets a 9, even though it probably deserves a 10.

One of the few films where women actors dominate and extremely well done too. Judy Dench earns her oscar in 8 minutes and it was worth each one. Miss Paltrow takes on a huge burden and delivers. Personally I think Geofrey Rush should have one an oscar too. Feel of the time is impressive.

I do not think this movie deserved to beat Saving Private Ryan or Life is Beautiful at the Oscars. It was a good comedy but not a film worth winning the best picture academy award. I enjoyed the movie, but it was not as memorable like The Red Violin or The Thin Red Line.

EXCELLENT! I've never seen the masterpiece like this film. Eventually Gwyneth got the Actress of Academy Award. Actors, actresses, director, supporting, costumes, etc are so wonderful & great. I'll never forget William Shakespeare & this film. If you've not seen it, you have got to go to the cinema. You will be satisfied. Please applaud to them very much.

This movie is the perfect combination of romantic comedy, historic fiction, and yet has enough action and drama to keep most people not only interested but captivated. Needless to say, I enjoyed this movie, and will be extremely disappointed if it doesn't steal a few oscars away from the overblown 'Saving Private Ryan'. This is a must see film.

Gwyneth Palthow is UGLY, and she is EVERYWHERE. Are all the other actresses dead? This movie would be a lot better if they got someone else.
