Gwyneth Paltrow is beautiful and charming, and Jack Black is not, and charming. Another silly concept from the Farellys that once again works wonderfully for me. They certainly can be silly and that certainly rubs many the wrong way. They also dare to point the finger at things people don't like to be teased about. But people take themselves too seriously in this world, and the Farellys clearly don't let that affect their style. I loved the way the movie presented what Black's character sees vs reality. Bear in mind, I clearly like the Farellys more than most Hollywood critics who I'm afraid take themselves and Hollywood itself too seriously to appreciate the mockery the brothers make of many aspects of their industry.

Cute movie. Acting was very good all around. Not a super fantastic must see, but very enjoyable. Jason Alexander and Jack Black were very funny. Gwyneth Paltrow (even when shown skinny) was a believable fat person. She was marvelous.

Hahaha. This was very funny. Jack Black is worth the price of a ticket or rental anyday. If you are sensitive about your weight, you might want to miss this one.

Hey every1, Shallow Hal is a really great movie!!! You should go and see it, although I do admit you don't need to see it on the big screen unless you want to perve on gorgeous Gwyneth Paltrow. She really is a great actress and proves in this film that she can act great in any movie let it be a comedy like Shallow Hal or a drama like hush or a romance like Bounce and Shakespeare in love. She definitely is by far the greatest actress alive!!! I luv you Gwen you rule!!!

Hi I saw the movie, I thought it was very fun yet it sends out a good point to other shallow MEN! I give it a 9.5.

I thought it was a very well made movie. A movie dedicated to show even though you are 300 lbs, does not mean you are the worst person on planet earth. For those of you who said that this movie was a bore, I suggest you re-watch it another time and maybe you'll get what the movie is all about.

This movie sucked so badly! I thought it was going to be at least a little funny and interesting... BUT IT WASN'T! Sure I laughed about once, but it was a VERY terrible movie! Ugh I was so mad that I wasted my money on this!

This movie was terrible, myself and my girlfriend left after we figured out it was not getting any better about 3/4 of the way through. The creaters of this movie should be embaressed. Save your money, don't even rent it...

The movie was funny, Jason Alexander is an amasing supporting actor, however I feel let down by Jack Blacks performance. I liked the concept of the movie, and how it showed "less than perfect looking people" with class. If you're hesitating to see it, well consider that Gwyneth isn't her fat-suit alot. I only have three words: "Gwyneth, short-shorts, thong", now I dare you to tell me that's not worth 3$. JOHN.

Thought it was very funny. Originally wasn't expecting much, but the audience was roaring at times. For the $3 I paid, was definetely worth it.

I enjoyed the movie for the lesson that we all must learn in life. Stop looking at beauty from the outside and look at a person from the inside. However I am a person who is not attracted to fat people not because they can not be beautiful people but because sexually they are a turnoff.

This is the biggest crap ever made by Hollywood. If you weight 500 pound this is a movie to see but if not not don't even look at it on tv. If I could, I would give that crap -10.

A great story line in that one can be blinded by what we see on the outside and not the true inside. A good movie to see with a good buddy. Gwyneth Paltrow sweet as usual.

I was very pleasently surprised with this movie, I was expecting a teeny bopper Stupid funny movie, but I found it to be a good humourous movie with a very important story line to it, it wasn't too predictable as well which was nice. I saw this movie with one of the guys, but I will watch it again with my wife because I am sure she will like it. Something I would not have said from seeing the previews, Not a must see, but definitly a good movie.

Loved this movie. Pleasantly surprised as I expected less. As a fat person who has long been hypnotized by inner beauty. I was impressed with the balance of really funny stuff throughout and with the real value of the message. It was not in my opinion mocking fat people or anyone outside the"norm". The friend I attended this movie with, also outside the norm, laughed as loudly as I did and we had good discussion after of the issues presented. It is interesting how the different lenses of all people affect what they see in others and what they see in a movie. Good movie. Well done. Don't miss it!

Very few scenes are funny. The movie is immature and offensive. I enjoy comedies, and this one is definitely not one!

The movie was interesting but there wasn't any maturity. Hal is not shallow, Ken is shallow. In the movie, the way he approached all the girls just because of their beauty makes Ken a shallow guy. Ken is completely immature, irresponsible and stupid. Just like Hal is. The movie itself is very funny though, go see it for the love of god!!

Unfortunately this movie could have been better. The premise was good but Hal wasn't shallow. As soon as he sees women's inner beauty, all of a sudden he knows how to talk to them etc. etc. I was expecting more shallowness and was not satisfied.

Shallow Hal was a cute movie. The fat jokes got a little bit redundant, and I started to feel bad. Good idea for a movie though.

Hmm... interesting movie! I never go to see comedies, but I was out with some friends who wanted to see it, so I gave in. I know know why I don't go to see comedies... lol. This movie was a lot longer then I thot it was going to be, not long in a bad way, but still long. The movie was fairly perdictable but did throw a few "twists. " I wouldn't see it again, but it did manage to hold my interest for the duration. If you like comedies then it may be a good pick... but if you don't, then stay away.

Yaaaahhhhhhn. Sorry folks, not as good as even the ads led you to believe. On a positive note, it does make one think through issues of the real value of individuals we meet and how they typically get judged. This is the one redeeming virtue.
