Amazing Movie. A definite must see. It's a Little disturbing at some parts and I would definitely recommend you not watch it before going to bed if your scared easily. I loved to plot and it was well produced. The acting was great!

Keeps you on the edge of your seat worried about the outcome and completely confused until the very end. Makes you question your morals too.

This movie was ok... it kept me interested... but I found it kind of hard to understand. It does have a great catch to it also. It really keeps you thinking.

Stupid predictable movie. Very gay. If you wanted to see a good Spacey see the usual suspects.

Ok... anybody bashing this movie or saying it was "predictable" obviously has half a brain. This was the best movie I ever saw and Spacey is a genius- take it from me, I'm not gonna ramble on with a whole bunch of crap that makes it sound like I'm a movie reviewer; just go see the movie. Itll change your life.

I really enjoyed this movie. It approached the issue of the death penalty in a different way. I found it very thought provoking and philosophical. I recommend it!

As always, Kevin Spacey likes to play games with the minds of the audience, as he does again with this film. It's suspenseful nature coincides with Spacey's style of acting. However, this movie is far more predictable than Spacey's character should have let. It's a good movie, but not as well done as American Beauty.

J'ai adoré ce film. Imprevisible et touchant, interpelle la (in) justice américaine sur la peine de mort. Kevin Spacey was amazing...

Great movie with a typical Kevin Spacey 'twist' at the end. Excellent acting.

After seeing the number of newspaper reviews slamming this film I did not have very high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw as I found the film to be entertaining and the story was not predictable - plenty of good twists. Kevin Spacey portrays a very flawed character. Spacey sees to choose films where he plays real losers so I have a hard time liking him as an actor. Throughout this story Spacey's character David Gale makes many poor choices that cause his life go from bad to worse so I found it believable that this guy could make the choices that culminate in the outcome of the story. I also enjoyed the way the Texas criminal justice system was portrayed in all its self-righteousness. I am tempted to conclude that the reviewers who did not like this film did so because of their stance on capital punishment, which is the films major theme. But that would be cynical so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and conclude that they saw flaws in the film that I didn't see.

It is a really good Kevin Spacey movie. He is amazing and the story line is really interesting. It is nice for a human rights organization to be heard and seen at this level.

I found the movie was a bit disapointing. The end is giving away after one third of the movie. But the characters are well done, deep and interesting. Actors are delivering a great job as well.

Unbelievable overacting, with quivering lips and predictable plot lines. Characters are mere cardboard cutouts and Spacey phones in his performance. And then the ending of all endings... what Hollywood trashy writer came up with the over the top final sequence of WInslet runnning, with the clock ticking. UGH! Don't even waste money on the rental!! Wanna see Spacey at his best, get Usual Suspect, Swimming with Sharks or even Seven...

Must see film. Spacey is excellent as usual. Regardless of whether you figure out the ending, it is awesome. Type of film where the crowd leaves in awed silence. Even the subtleties are masterfully crafted.

Life of David Gale was incredible... It makes you think about life itself and how one can lose it in one night. Although it was a Little weird in the beginning, things cleared themselves up quite quickly...

Breathtaking! Left the theatre speachless. The performances were amazing and Kate Winslet is fabulous! Ending threw me, not at all what I expected! Well worth seeing, it opens your eyes, your heart, and shows you how far some will go in the name of a cause! Stunning!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
I really didn't focus on the theme "the death penalty" in the movie. I focused on the process that David Gale chose the result. If he hadn't cheated on his wife or if his wife had fogiven him, he wouldn't have lost his family. He couldn't see his beloved son after he devorced. He couldn't hear even voice of his son. That's really painfull. Furthermore, he lost his job and renown. He lost everything! Cheating only one time ruined his life. That's a scary movie. And then, he knew he was going to lose his best friend too. I understand he chose the result. He wanted to escape from his devastating life and it was a good oprtunity to insist on his idea towards the death penalty. I feel how devastated he was, plus his lots of love towards his family and best friend. I liked the movie.
