Having visited Harrington Harbour one memorable summer recently, I couldn't resist La Grande Seduction. I wasn't disappointed... A wonderful comic piece. Marvellous stuff. John Berriman.

I'm Australian but married to a French Canadian. I laughed 'til I was sore at every frame - particularly those involving cricket.

This film got me laughing out loud, so that I couldn't help myself. The physical comedy, and slapstick humour is spot on and endearing at the same time. It has so many levels to it. I would see it again.

This is a refreshing change from the steady stream of turkeys coming from Hollywood. It's amusing without resorting to caricature and the usual film cliches.

A truly enjoyable movie. I laughed out loud throughout the movie. The acting was top-notch, and I hardly noticed the subtitles. Whoever casted the movie really did their homework. I felt like I was there. Go see it.

Harmless piece of fluff that will make you smile and, occasionally, laugh.

It has been a LONG time since I've seen anything like La Grande Seduction. All I can say is:Perfect. The cinematography, casting, script, everything. My prediction is that Hollywood will produce it's own rendition of this film soon.

Well executed---characters believable although somewhat naive---well worth going to.

A good funny movie. Well worth seeing. Almost (but not quite) as good as "la postiere", in my opinion, the funniest movie made in Quebec.

This movie was filmed in Harrington Harbour Quebec, it was the talk of the community, I would love to purchase the dvd but cant find it yet in the stores. There are no roads in to this place, we need a road, so other people can come and enjoy Harrington also... the movie is excellent and Its filmed in one of the best places in the world... or most of it.

Why this film has been overlooked by those who seem to be high on 'Les Invasions Barbares' is beyond me. This film is a moving piece that will keep you will put a smile. Although this film seems predictable at times, the predictibility helps the film rather than harm it. Definitely, this film is an instant classic.

This film is a compasionate look at human dignity and honesty as well as the violation of honesty in the intrest of dignity. This was absolutely the best film that I have seen this year. I saw it at the Sundance film festival this year (2004) and was positively awed at the characters, their chemistry and portrayal. It has a delightful sense of humor about itself, while at the same time dealing with the usually heavy handed subject of betrayal. I was drawn to really care about the characters and the small fishing village that they inhabit. The film is the first feature length film that Jean-François Pouliot has directed and it is most definitely a smashing start to his carrer in the film industry. This one may be hard for the director to top himself. Go see it, you will not be dissapointed. And tell some one you liked it so it can get released on DVD!

I dont see why this movie would be such a great one in the eyes of some it is just a regular movie like the ones that play on tv everynight a soap opera...

This is by far one of the best comedies I have seen in a very long time. The humour was original. I liked the fact it was very funny without being vulgar. The acting is very good. A must see. A real little gem.

Very fresh movie! I enjoyed every second of it. Plus, French is good. I can't stand heavy Quebecois accent. Thanks G. D, most people speak clearly in this movie. I would definitely advise to watch this movie even if your French is so-so.

Bad movie and boring!!! Sorry but it's true the actor was acting bad and the story wasn't original. Quebec's movies are not so high that I think before.
