I dont think anyone should miss this movie. Even though it portrayed Johnny mostly in his roughest times, there were many good times in his life. Excellent movie. Go see it. For sure. And appreciate good old Johnny Cash. And of course June Carter.

Excellent. I thought the acting was fantastic. Joaquin and Reese were PERFECT for their roles. I actually enjoyed Reese's singing more than June's... funny, huh? Both should be in the final 5 for the Oscars!! Let's see March 5th. :)

A huge Johnny Cash fan. For the most part enjoyed the story of his love with june and the start to his music career. Didn't like that "man in black" aspect of him was never touched upon.

This was a good movie but I am only 10 years old so the only thing I got about this film was that it was about johnny cash's life and I really liked the music but I still don't get why they say not recomended for young children because I only heard three bad words.

First all, Id recommend both fans of entertainment and fans of Cinema to watch this film. It really worth to try, you will see the power of love with the shadow of music both together. Following the musical films returning back to theaters in recent years, I should say that Joaquin Phoenix played a spectacular role in Walk the Line which has a significant superiority to what Zeta-Jones did in Chicago and even what Kidman did in Moulin Rouge. I should say thanks Joaquin Phoenix for the marvelous impressive role he played! Although I am not his fan! When you watch the film you cant stop your eyes following his incredible performance, although we cant neglect the sweet and smooth emotion that Witherspoon inserted in this film. The film was related and realistic, without anything fancy. The music was natural but the director preferred to sacrifices music sometimes for love. Although Love and Song were connected in most of the parts, in some of the last sections I couldnt bridge them together. Enjoy watching this film..

This was an awesome movie! Way better then Ray. It really shows all aspects of Johnny Cash's life. Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job at the acting and singing. Reese actually did a great job herself, and shes not a horrible singer! I was interested throughout the entire movie, and I'd say overall this movie is really worth seeing.

As the movie began I thought - uhoh... Joaquin didn't really sound like Johnny Cash. By the time the movie ended I thought it *was* Johnny Cash. Well worth the admission price. Very entertaining, with bittersweet moments. A tissue in the pocket might come in handy in certain spots... Enjoy!

This movie is very good. It was impressive to learn that all of the actors sung and played their own instruments. The only sad thing about this movie is that it will draw comparisons with Ray. Ray was much better but this is still a great movie if you go in with an open mind.

While the story itself is somewhat well known because Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash have been in the public eye for so long, it was very well acted. Both Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon made you believe they were the people they played, and somewhat surprisingly to me, they sang very well. This movie will be remembered come Oscar time.

Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon's oscar worthy performances are reason enough to see this movie. Their acting and musical impersonations were impressive. Joaquin brought a sensitivity and vulnerability to the role of Johnny Cash while Reese brought a real sense of inner strength to the role of June Carter. I'm sure the producers had many reasons for casting Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny aside from his striking resemblance to the musician. The parallels to his own life made this movie all the more powerful to watch.

Was a good movie. Went in expecting ok, and it was better then that. The actors did a great job of making you believe they were the persons they were playing. Clearly there is a lot of ground to cover in this story, and it seems to be covered by likely taking complex events and unique moments and creating anagrams to represent them. You got a feel for it, but I was left wondering how it might have really played out. (no fault of anyone's) it certainly left me wanting to know more about the life and times of Johnny and June. You are left with the feeling that they were two people that relied on and complimented each other. A good movie experience, as I felt as if I had a better understanding of these two great artists relationship with each other. P. s. Had to laugh how they had to tell you of every small place that was represented but when it came to Canada, the closest they could say was Ontario... it was London, where the 'important' scene took place.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This movie is a fascinating portrayal of country legend Johnny Cash and the powerful mark he made on the world with his rough & tough style of song, and his one of a kind voice. This is the story of one man's determination and courage to climb to the top, despite the many obstacles he was faced with... drugs, alcohol, his first marriage gone sour, and the demands made on him by the people he worked alongside with. However, before I saw this movie, I didn't know very much about Johnny Cash's life, particularly about the earlier years. Also, we come to see how two people find each other in the life of stardom, fall in love, and become husband and wife. June Carter and Johnny Cash, according to the story, shared a strong chemistry. The performances by Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are truely outstanding. I definitely think this movie is worthy of an Oscar. If you haven't yet seen Walk The Line, then what are you waiting for... GO SEE IT! This is one movie not to be missed..

The must see of 2005. I went to see this movie 3 times. Joaquin Pheonix gives another great performance as the man in black, the one and only, Johnny Cash. It was also nice to see Reese Witherspoon in a more serious role. She did an excellent job as June Carter. It made me want to go out and buy the soundtrack... so I did. For a man who is dead, his story was very well brought to life.

Very touching. Both Joaquin and Reese give a brilliant, breathtaking performance in this wonderful story. A man might be stubborn, but that doesn't mean he cannot be foolish. I, like Johnny Cash am a romantic fool when it comes to love. A truly beautiful movie that I will definitely purchase.
