This is a fun little sci-fi movie. Overall I liked it, but my boyfriend and I kept finding these weird little gaps in the story's logic... I guess you have to suspend your disbelief, right? The other thing I didn't like was the BLATANT advertising throughout the movie, really obvious product shots for companies like Puma, Aquafina, etc. It was so obvious it felt like commercial breaks. Scarlet Johansson was lovely but seemed really vapid (unlike some of her more interesting roles in movies like Girl With a Pearl Earring and Lost in Translation) The blonde dye job and heavy mascara made her look just like every other blonde starlet out there which I think is a shame. Ewan McGregor was perfectly cast. Steve Buscemi should have had a much larger role - he played a quirky maintenance guy, but wasn't used to his full capabilities. The other thing I noticed that was kind of funny was the similarities to other sci-fi movies - and I don't watch a lot of this genre. The cities had a cleaned-up Blade Runner thing going on. The whole clone-developing-consciousness thing and the sterile white environment was kind of like I, Robot. That's all I can think of right now but I remember in the movie I kept saying, "isn't that like in that movie..." I'm glad I rented this rather than going to see it in the theatre. It's not awful but it's not worth cinema prices. If you're in the mood for a fun little action-sci-fi movie, this will work for you.
