The movie is worth seeing. Swank plays a convincing Amelia.

Movie kept my interest, was slow in many spots. I admit did not know much about Amelia Earhart prior to this movie. I did wait until it went to the discount theatre to see the movie, would not pay full price for it.

Anyone expecting a nail biting travel-ogue of Amelia's last flight around the world will be disappointed. This movie focuses on her relationship(s) and events leading up to the final challenge (her attempt a flying around the world) I agree, it had its slow moments, but it showed a side that not many have ever seen before. It was a good look behind the scenes of what made her tick (assuming they got the facts straight) Hilary Swank was made up a VERY close look alike to Amelia.

A decently entertaining movie. Certainly not an epic, but probably worth seeing on the big screen. Like usual, Hilary Swank does a good job with the role. Her resemblance in the movie to the real Amelia Erhardt is quite uncanny, although this aspect doesn't really add to the entertainment value of the movie. Richard Gere is the same as usual; not terrible, but no real passion for the role. Ewan Mcgregor's talent is completely wasted on this rather unremarkable part. Overall, enjoyable to watch, but hardly worth remembering once you've left the theatre.

Outstanding performance by Hilary Swank as well as the other actors! Great cinematography also. I truly enjoyed this flick.

It was a good movie. I was a little disappointed. I was expecting a more exciting movie. It was a bit long and it got boring after awhile.

I found out a lot of stuff about Amelia that got me doing some research. The movie portrayed her as more life like, not some invincible fighter pilot. Hilary Swank was a bang on pick to play this role. No oscar this time. I liked it, but I sure wish it could have ended in a happier mode in real life.

There was so much to love in this film, Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, the fashions, the scenery, aviation, history, real film footage of Amelia Earhart. So why did it seem like gingerale gone a bit flat? Some element was definitely lacking in the script which was sad considering the potential of this incredible story. Hilary Swank sure did look like the real Ms. Earhart.

Hilary Swank nailed the character however the movie should have been better written.

It was a good movie. I thought the way they portrayed the ending was brilliant, it stuck with me for 2 days. I felt that they showed Putnam's feelings but didn't really dig into hers - disappointing. Overall I thought they kept it real and not over-sensationalized - rare for today's movies.

I liked the graphics of the scenery, I thought it was interesting and I agree that the two actors had great chemastry together... but I thought there could have been more to the storyline. And at times I got confused as to what year they were in.

An awesome movie. Unforgettable. So inspirational. A must see. Such a refreshing change from the sex and violence that dominates our screens.

If Hilary Swank gets an Oscar for this movie, there is seriously something wrong with the Academy Awards. She has already two Oscars, but doesn't deserve another Oscar, but you know what the Academy is like when it comes to portrayals of real life people.

There is no 6.5 rating so still worth seeing... while leaving the cinema my wife said wow Hilary was great... she is. The story in flashback format is choppy but to the point. Just felt that there could have been more...

I was pleasantly surprised by this film in that the character of Arhart was fleshed out and Swank did a great job. Love story was very believable -ie - v good chemistry between the two. Cinematogpaphy was good. Not an Oscar winner but a nice evening's entertainment.

Hilary Swank is fabulous. She is one of those rare actresses who can be masterfully different in every movie she makes.

When I saw a 2.7 rating I new it had to be a mistake. My niece & I saw it today & we liked it. The acting was good as was the story. We love both actors & their acting was very good, we just don't know if we wud have put them together as a couple. That was the only part we were not real sure of. I am 50+ & my neice 24.

Best movie I've seen in years! Hilary Swank was so good, I thought I was watching Emelia in person! If your interested in aviation history, as well as an excellent story, this is a must see!!!

A very well done movie on an extraordinary person. It really gave the feel for times and Hillary Swank made you feel like it was really her you were watching. Not many movies I would see twice, but this is one I would.

I have to say, after seeng the film yesterday, and upon further reflection, there are many comments in some of the reveiws that I have to agree with - though not as harsh as some. I love Hilary Swank as an actress, and really thought she could do a great Amelia, but it was too superficial. Not so much the acting, but the writing and direction seemed to miss the true essence of who Amelia was and what she represented. It was as though the director was afraid to delve into the truth for fear of offending. (I should have been suspicious seeing it given a "G" rating.) This film was more like a docudrama you would see on the History Channel than a full on creative storytelling drama. It's too bad (my bias as a pilot) that the flying aspect seemed to take a back seat. There was no real sense of what flying back then was like.

Went to see this movie not expecting too much. Got what we expected., It was okay for historical reasons, but as a movie, would have made a great Sunday afternoon flick... No Oscars for this crew..

I was disappointed--my expectations were quite high with two Oscar winners as main leads--she did oen doors for women but movie could have been more inspiring.

It was too long and not very exciting. I can't believe that a more exciting story could not have been told about one of America's sweethearts. Shame on Hollywood.

A visually impressive and technically accurate movie that suffers from a bad script. Amelia never emerges as more than a two dimensional cut-out. There are hints that she may have had a complex sexuality but they are never exploited. Many chances for tension were missed as she crosses the Atlantic twice without missing a heartbeat. Finally, more missed chances for tension as we learn almost off-handedly that she didn't take a morse code receiver with her, the direction finder on the ship had a dead battery (no spares anywhere? ) and there was no backup radio on her plane - really? If this movie were re-shot by the folks who made Titanic it would be a barn-burner but great shots don't make up for a script where every chance for tension and excitement was ignored.

Hilary Swank is Oscar worthy again in her role of Amelia Earhart. Her look and her voice could be mistaken for the real thing. This movie has all the elements of a great movie. The cinematography is breathtaking. The supporting cast of Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor have solid performances. Her story is an inspiration to all people who have a dream. It was wonderful to see this true story brought to film and to be shared by all generations. By far, the best movie I've seen in 2009. A definite must see.

As far as true life stories go, this is a very interesting film, well put together and good performances by the actors. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though we know the ending. I look forward to seeing it again. Would have liked to see her relationship with Gene Vidal explored a bit more. Ewan McGregor is pure magic in that role. Very interesting woman, amazing feat, esp in the 30's. There's no violence, no guns, just a good solid story. Worth seeing.

This was a nicely shot movie with a great performance by Hilary Swank in the lead role. Oscar worthy? Perhaps. Also of note, I thought, was the supporting role performance of the first pilot on the initial trans-atlantic, played by Joe Anderson. However, I also felt the writing could have been a sharper with more depth to Amelia's relationships with her men and also with the public. Sets and costumes also get high marks. This is a good movie, worth seeing.

I was so excited to see this movie and was utterly dissapointed with the result. It was boring, Swank was false - the voice ridiculous. Richard Gere played Richard Gere. Don't waste your money. This would be one to watch when it airs on television, which to me, was what it was... a boring made for tv movie.

A 6.5. It was interesting to learn more about Amelia Earhardt, but as a movie it wasn't riveting. The actors did the best they could with a flat script.

I left this movie before it was over, which I have not done in a very long time. What can I say? The cast should have been great together but there was zero chemistry, zero depth to the script and it became impossible not to laugh every time Hilary Swank spoke in an Irish accent instead of a Kansas accent. Hate to say it- but It's one of the top 5 worst movies I've ever seen.
