In this cautionary, rags to riches tale, poor Macario wants only something good to eat on the Day of the Dead. He gets his wish when his wife makes him a turkey. However, three spirits, the Devil, Death, and God, appear to him with a test. Each asks him to share the turkey, and Macario refuses all but Death. In exchange, Death gives Macario a magical bottle of water that can heal any illness. Soon, Macario becomes wealthy beyond his wildest dreams -- but at the price of getting the Inquisition involved in his affairs!
