I loved it! I prefer Stuart Townsend in the role of Lestat, even if he is not the same hair color that the one in the book, but hey, it's television, you can't have the "100% real" Lestat! And he's more sexy!, it's not a horror movie, surely not but you're not supposed to think that. The story was great, even if they cut all the part on the twins, who was the center of the story... doesn't matter, it rocks out loud anyway!

I think Queen of the Damned is the best film I've seen. I'd give it a definite 10/10. I also think that Stuart Townsend is the most sexiest person on Earth. I go on the internet looking for Stuart Townsend pictures. I have got a Queen of the Damned poster. I 've made a big poster of lots of Stuart Townsend pictures together and many more things. I have watched Queen of the Damned about 35 times. I never get bord of it. My sister [...] And my best friend [...] are also huge fans of Stuart Townsend and the films he stars in. My dream is to meet Stuart Townsend and become friends with him. I 'd also like that for Lara and Sophie to be friends with him. He is a amazing actor and Ilove his Irish accent. It's really sexy. I love him to bits!!!

I recently stumbled upon this page, and although QotD was created nearly two years ago, I feel I should contribute my opinion. Firstly, to correct any misconceptions, Aaliyah was present in very few scenes due to her unfortunate death, which happened to occur before the movie was even finished. Secondly, and foremostly, those "die-hard Anne Rice fans" most here have claimed to be, shouldn't have been so disappointed if that title rang true. Because, obviously, the true message availed them. No, Stuart Townsend's hair was not blonde, Marius did not make Lestat, Mekare never made her appearance, and Akasha was not Black... but the message is still there, regardless of the missing factual pieces. For instance, the look of wholly lonesomeness on Lestat's face after the interview with the press, in my opinion, represented the true gap vampires feel exists between themselves and humans. Another example: Jesse's naïvety and careless arrogance. She was the postergirl for fans everywhere, and their inexplicable and hollow obsession with vampires. In closing, to those who have yet to see it, no, there isn't much factual representation in the movie, but it's worth it. If you go for nothing else, go for Stuart Townsend's incredible, sensational acting and seductiveness. ;)

Even though it's not like the books it's brilliant anyway, You just haft to see this movie!, -- BY THE WAY: You haft to read Anne Rice books --.

As a fan of All vampire movies, book, and just plain vampires, I never have anything bad to say about vampire movies!! Although the first 3 books of "The Vampire Chronicles" were great, the movie was totally different and the stories went out of turn. I wished it could of been Interview, The Vampire Letstat, and then Queen... I would have appreciated seeing those stories made into movies, the same way the chronicles go. I truly adored "Lestat" and my honey adored "Akasha". We loved the music and I was hoping the music played by the violin on the beach scene was on the soundtrack. Thanks for a great movie!! Can't wait for the next one!!

I thought this movie was absolutley the best Stuart Townsends preformance was very on key... but I give much props to Aaliyah (the right way to spell it) on her preformance even though they cut her scences short her skills were still shown with every swing of her hips, to her sultry accent, and banging body. I love you Aaliyah and I'll never forget you girl... Much luv and to Anne Rice keep up the good work... you picked a good cast and the movie was great... once agian Aaliyah you will always be missed... *one* Z'Kheyon-Aquarius wuz here remembering his baby *Liyah*.

This was a great indepth of the gothic and imortal world of darkness. It really brings you there. And it is very expressive of the vampire/gothic world. I feel like I have connected with the movie and characters. My life is kinda like Lestat's life. But I am not imortal but I feel as he does, like I am alone, all the memories. Marius was a big part of the movie that I liked best. He is a good character in the movie. Vincent Perez plays Marius very well, Vincent is gives Marius character a sexy, charming vibe. VINCENT PEREZ WAS SEXY IN THIS MOVIE!!!!!! I absolutly LOVE the music in this MOVIE!!!!!! The music speaks to my soul. !!!!!!!!! VINCENT PEREZ ROCKS MY WORLD.

Absolute crap. Finally read the REAL book and it's still crap. Marius didn't make Lestat, Lestat had blonde hair. Where was Mekare, Armand looked all wrong, where was Louis, where was Gabrielle, where was Nicki, where was Magnus, where was... I could go on and on. The 2 is for the soundtrack. Don't watch the movie, listen to the soundtracks.

I agree with everyone in saying that the movie did not stay true to the book. But there was no way to combine two books with every character into one movie (for those who read the book you know what I'm talking about) They should have made The Vampire Lestat into a movie first but that probably would have made no money like this movie. You can't look at this movie as a sequel to Interview with the vampire because nothing adds up even though that movie did not stay 100% true to the novel. The only thing in common is the character Lestat. Stuart Townsend was awesome better thatn cruise. With blonde hair Townsend is exactly how I would picture Lestat.

Queen of the damned is the best film ever!!! It totally rules and we are definitely going to see it again. The sound track was great (the song 'cold' by Static X was the best I think) Aaliyah was good in it but not half as good as Stuart Townsend. He can act and he is also sooooo fit!!! It is definitely my favourite film ever. Vampires rule!!!!!!

This movie can be summed up as a rather lengthy music video with bright flashy lights, nifty effects, Aaliyah swinging her hips a few times, and a cool soundtrack. Unfortunately, that's all there is to it. I'm a giant Anne Rice fan, and I thought that this was full of pit holes and gaping feelings of emptiness where there were expectations. There is also a mass amount of elements in the novel that were missing in the movie. It's not a complete waste of your money- just don't go to see it if you are expecting anything that stimulates you... intellectually.

This one of the movie that I thought was done well. The actors and actress did amazing job in their roles. I love the whole story line especially since it is about vampires it makes it kind of spooky and fun. I recommend alot of people to watch this movie. Also last but least Aliah's performance was amazing. It is so sad that a talented girl such as herself had to leave at such a young age. Wherever she is now, God Bless her.

The movie is better than I expected. Sure the story is not all that (what do you expect when you squeeze two full novels into a 2 hours movie?) and there are part where you completely lose yourself in different questions. Do yourself a favour and do not go see the movie if you read the book before. Akasha appears in a couple of scene. No disrespect for Aaliya for her role but they butcher her part to the point where she just stand there dancing and pronouncing her lines in a slavic accent. One of the only real good parts in the movie is the soundtrack. It simply rules and I have to put it there with the soundtrack from "The Crow"... If I was not being too analystic about the movie, I would say that it was a very simple good time.

If you are not an Anne Rice fan, then this movie may be passable but definitely no better than that. For true Anne Rice fans, this movie was lack lustre and poorly scripted. The Maharet/twins storyline was deleted completely, Stuart Townsend acted more like a 2 dimensional Brandon Lee in "The Crow" than Lestat, Aaliyah adequately pulled off a several thousand year old aristocratic self-absorbed bitch, but she wasn't even on the screen long enough to give the character any depth and the Talamasca wasn't given any real development, either. The only decent part of the film was the soundtrack. The beginning and ending were horribly done (especially the acting) and even the special effects were nothing impressive (look for various scenes where the fangs are different colours than the actors' real teeth) This burnt-out goth gives it two thumbs down.

Awful. Terrible. Horrendous. Any other synonyms of just plain bad, please apply! I am a HUGE Anne Rice fan, and Queen of the Damned was my favorite book. What a massacre of such a fantastic piece of fiction. I went in with an open mind, after reading the director's explanation of missing pieces of the book in the movie, on the movie's website. I thought that there would be more to the movie than the description. I was wrong. He was honest! If you haven't seen the movie, just go read what he wrote, because there isn't much else to the movie. If I could, I would give this film a "0", and I'm the type of person who likes or even loves most movies that I see. Sorry folks, skip this one. It's an hour and 42 minutes of your life you'll never get back!

OH COME ON!!! Even if I hadn't read the book by Anne Rice I would still think that this is the biggest piece of rot in the history of movie making! It's very obvious to me that the producers of this film failed not only their reading classes, they even got the Cliff notes wrong!!! Please, if you want to know the story of Queen of the damned, don't see this movie. Read the book don't be swayed against against a great story just because the producers and director wanted to make a quick buck off of the gullible who like the appeal of vampire movies!

Well it's not as though they had a lot to live (oops) up to... after Tom Cruise as Lestat there was no where to go but up. I liked it, really liked it. Different from the books, yes, but very good. Smooth, sexy, remarkable music and mood... Mr. Townsend was just so... well, in those leather pants and the... his eyes and... oh my. Yes, it was a tasty treat. To quote a Landslide song, the older we get, the more we become ourselves; this was true with Lestat, the Brat Prince to be sure, as well as all mortals and immortals. Great cast, great tunes... some fans might be turned off, but I was, well, the opposite. Hot, wet, rich and metallic, like blood itself.
