WTF ? Am I the only one that thought this movie REALLY REALLY Blows ! From the commercial we expected some big scary S**T ! But the movie didn;t have a single scary moment ....... y'know I coulda just filled my 5 $ bill with [...].

The Haunting is the bomb!!!!!! It's amazing, I think the movie's special effects are great. My friend and I were screaming throught the movie.

The haunting really wasn't what it was all cracked up to be. I went to see cuz of all the comments and the adds on TV. They said, and I quote "scariest movie of all time". Maybe the sound fx were pretty scary (the thumping noises sounded like a dolby system gone haywire). But the visual fx were kinda poor. They could have put some less visual FX and leave it to our immagination, which would have given the movie more suspense, but they didn't. The haunting started out well (from the point they entered the "Hill House"), and in the beginning, the FX would take you by surprize, but as it went on, it got pretty boring. The story didn't have any twists. Although the only detail the makers thought of putting in were those of the house, they were stunning. The ambiance in the house would also make this movie a bit scarier. But not enough. Don't believe in the hype. It's all lies. I would recommend anyone to see haunting at their own risk [of like or not liking it]. Some people might find it worthy of being seen only because of the sound effects and the attention given to the detail of the hill house. Another thing, the synopsis in [this] page was wrong, because there are no paranormal experts, and they don't even look into the occurences, the group of people in the hill house, were insomniacs upon whom sleeping experiments were done. Nobody [in the group] even expected paranormal occurences.

The preview was great, the movie wasn't. I was expecting more from this movie than this. First, it wasn't that scary. Second, I found it too unrealistic. The sound/visual effects were great for a child but to really scare an adult, it has to be a bit realistic, no?

Finally a horror movie for a mature crowd (as well as a younger one)... Good story, good actors and a beautiful setting. Pure old fashion scary story.

Did not like this film, nope. Well the haunting aspect was good. But the whole story was.. how can I put it so not too ruin it.... bad. I was looking forward to a freaky movie that scared me it did that but then made me think yadayadayada.

Well, I have been waiting for a great horror flick and am still waiting- what a disaster. CZJ dragged this nighmare to a "2". I wish they made condoms as thin as this plot- brutal story with dial-it- in performances from all the actors especially Liam Neeson. Computer effects overused in this stupid stupid movie.

I would advise anyone with half a brain not see this movie. The story is not very well developed and that makes the plot way to obvious. The ending is horrible. Can't any film writer make an ending that isn't predicatable and really sappy. The one thing I liked about this movie was the house but who goes to see a movie for the arctitecture.

Very good premise for a horror movie, but the lack of action and a decent story make this movie quite boring... all the best scenes are squeezed into the 30 second movie trailer.

Why did I choose 2 as my score? I'll tell you: 1 for waste of money and 2 for waste of time... The effects were different, at times even original.. But all in all, I could have lived without subjecting myself to such a mockery of a horror movie. Do yourself a favour, DON'T GO!!!!!! Your $8.50 can be used in much more creative ways.

Well, I give him a passing mark. The carving on the house may be creapy but it was cool. But the movie wasn't quite as good as I though it was. I'll recommend only to people who is usually scared. It could give them a fresh start to love scary movies. But for whos who like scary movies very much, well, don't go see it.

I was expecting a "EXORCIST" type film but got an Adams Family instead, nothing scary about this except some sudden movements, great special effects but that's about all....

Achh! The worst movie! Worse than Stars Wars. Lily Taylor was some spaced out freak which apparently she plays very well if you have seen the other films she has been in. The advertisement on television is much better than the movie itself. The special effects were too computerized. No story, nothing. There were some scary parts but it was more those real fast shocks not really fear! Don't bother and don't even rent it when it comes out on video. C'est pour la poubelle ça!
