Occasionally you have to give a ten. Acting was great across the board, yes there was some unbelievable scenes but it is the movies. Ending fitted the name, but was not the best part of the movie. A must see.

Dark Knight is a good film! Lots of action and twists, definitely a movie to watch. It is much darker than the first one and has more action and thrills. It is also more interesting and the actors have done a great job. Bale is very good as Batman, even though I didn't like his voice while he's disguised, he did a good job in his role throughout the movie. Ledger was really good as the Joker, he made the character so real and is excellent as the villain. The movie can be a bit confusing at times, but still keeps you in your seat and wondering what will happen next. Definitely looking forward to the next one in the series!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The movie's director went way overboard for dark and sinister. A superhero movie should be at least a little bit fun. This was more like a police procedural with more sadism and violence that usual. People are talking about Heath Ledger as Oscar bait, but the role was so striking that I think any competent actor would have had similar acclaim. Any movie loses me a little bit when a gun is held to a child's head. I felt I learned something about Batman in the first film that was fresh and intriguing. I don't think I learned anything new here. It was still an OK movie, especially if you're in the mood for a bleak, nihilistic thriller. Obviously there is an audience for this.

Best movie I've seen in a number of years. Finally we get to see the dark sided batman and joker from the eighties and not the ideotic pun throughing joker and kind harted batman we see in the media but the attitudes of the characters that have been in the comics for the past three decades.

Definitely a great flick! I had a good time watching although it did drag on a little too long. However the character development of the joker was great. It showed us that thin line that exists between genius and insanity. Ledger probably would have gotten the Oscar had he not died either way, his performance is sooo enthralling.

I don't know where to start with this movie. I thought the point of all the new batman movies were to give background on the characters. Well nothing is explained about the joker except one line he says about his father. I just... didn't get it, the storyline sucked and didn't make sense. Aside from that, great action as always! Definitely a must see, but don't be too disappointed when it doesn't meet your expectations.

I gave this a six out of ten for a few reasons... first, being why would they do that cheezeball voice for batman (STUPID, no need), second being, cheezy horrible lines at certain parts in the movie when you think everything's moving along great then they hit you with a cheezeball line. The JOKER was unreal in this movie... he (along with Caine and Freeman), got it to six for me, but if not for them, it would have been a four!!!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I wanted to love this but it was only about half as good as the Batman Begins. Where do I start? Maggie G was the least attractive woman on screen. 7 or 8 hysterical Joker scenes followed by him killing someone were quite enough but they went on and on and on. Why was a certain cop killed putting his wife thru agony only so he could drive a van in disguise? Does Gotham have only one helicopter? Why not line a transfer route with the army instead of leaving it totally empty unprotected and open to attack? Were any of the fight scenes half as good as any of the Bourne fight scenes? The batcycle sucked. Did two face remind anyone else of the Martians from Mars Attacks? Batman's harsh voice when in mask is ridiculous. Design and direction all pedestrian. Very disappointing.

The title should be The Joker instead of the Dark Knight... he just made the movie. Heath was INSANE!!! Back there I didn't see him or the character of the Joker... I saw THE Joker as if he was alive. And same for 2 Face!!

I have scanned the other reviews and can not believe there is so many 10s. This movie is not bad but it is not great either. Morgan Freeman is wasted in this film. He has a few lines but no chance to act. Michael C. as Alfred has a few moments of meaningful dialogue with Bruce, but nothing like the more touching and humorous moments found in Batman Begins. Gary Oldman, delivers some lines that are truly painful to hear, the one moment of highest drama for his character late in the film is not well done. He is saying all the things that should be said by a Father but I did not feel his tension. His final lines at the end of the film serve the purpose of summing up one of the many themes of the film, and helps to clarify the conclusions the director wants us to observe about the relationship Gotham has with Batman, but if you have to plainly say it at the end of a film directly to the audience then you have not done a good job of letting the viewer discover these ideas for themselves through the course of the film. Way to many converging and diverging story lines. This can make a movie complex and rich if structured well, sadly this movie is disjointed and shallow. This movie chases a dozen different themes and story arcs, but does fully explore any one of them. Once one story line begins to be fleshed out it spins off to another. Momentum is lost. In 10min bites this movie is well above average, as a whole it is average at best.

Absolutely amazing. A great end to Heath Ledger. The storyline was great and the integration of Two-Face was also awesome. As great as the movie is, I wouldn't show this film to anyone younger than thirteen because of the many killing sprees the joker enjoys.

Should be called the Joker Movie. It's a Batman movie, but the Joker really steals the show. One of the best films I've seen in years.

Not too sure what to rate this movie. I guess the question is what are you looking for... it is dark. It picks away at the subtle corners of humanity where light and dark collide in a massive blurrr... I did not like any of the ways to rate this movie that were suggested. I would have preferred to make my own, or at least combine some. Excellent film in its narrative thread like display. Plot leaves more questions than answers. Some far bigger to answer than others. It will be interesting to see what happens next... !!!
