[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I have seen this movie because it was in the syllabus of FTV131 I have this year. I haven't seen many Woody Allen Films and I dont have enough knowledge to compare this with his other works. Neverthless purple rose of cairo is an excellent film when you watch it carefully and go over it again and again (as I did- I had to) Cecilia a careless waitress in a local restaurant in New Jersey likes to go to movies instead of going back home after work because she has an unemployed, stupid husband waiting for the money rather than Cecillia. When her life was very ordinary, suddenly something happens that she never expected and she falls into a dilemma about reality and representation...
