Just an amazing movie. I'd love it. I'd see it 4 times cuz it was too good. The best movie I've seen ever. I recommend this movie 2 everyone who love action movie. Jet Li and Aaliyah was perfect in their role. It was another fight movie of Jet Li and he was as good as others time. I will rent the cassette as will itt will release and maybe I will buy it. Don't miss it!!!!! Peace

Good story. Good actors. VERY GOOD MUSIC. DMX is in it for 2 seconds that sucks but it's still a really good movie. Very well done (beginning a little long though) Aaliyah and DMX foreva!

The fight scenes were awesome... but what was even better was " Russel Wong ". This guy makes the whole movie... I love this guy. Not only is he gorgeous but he's a pretty good actor. Ladies... trust me this movie is worth seeing cuz of him.

Really amazing movie to say the least... It's one of the rare action/kung-fu fighting movies that actually have a plot to it. Although some of the fight scenes looked a little "awkward", in the most part, the action was very thrilling. Then comes the soundtrack which blended in with the movie really well, but after I bought the CD, it wasn't really too great... soo... Just be careful. Other than that, the movie overall was great you would definitely see me watching it again.

This movie is a big step for Jet Li in Hollywood. The fight scenes however were not as well done as his previous films, which were made with the best angles to showcase his moves. In Romeo must die, there were too many close ups and fast editing to fully appreciate the dynamic of the chroreographies of the fight sequences. They should do what The Matrix did: hand the martial arts parts to the Chinese film makers and let them do the magic. As for the rest of the films, it really has a B movie feel.

The story is straightforward but not wisely tied up; on the other hand, the action part and some pretty good humor compensated the simple story. I am sure many people are impressed by Jet Li's Kung Fu but in fact, let me tell you that he can definitely show much more real "thing" at a faster and nicer move than what we actually see in ROMEO. But it's a very good beginning for him in North America (much better than his role in Lethal Weapon 4).

I thought the movie was great. The action sequences were truly awesome. Perhaps one of the best martial arts movies ever made,(with a story line) however the relationship between Jet Li and Aaliyah had no sparks. It was hard to picture them as a modern day Romeo and Juilliet, they were definitely an odd couple. I think Russell Wong did an excellent job, he had the acting talent that Jet Li lacks. Russell Wong would have been a better choice for the starring role, but I guess when it comes down to selling tickets Jet Li will bring in the money.

Ok so here we go, very good movie, I recommend, bad part about it is the preview looks amazing the movie is very good, but there is not enough of fight scenes ans action compared with the sibbling black mask, cheesee everything, very good fight scenes, a lot of action, I liked this movie considering that if black mask could afford one of the cars in this movie there entire budget would of been blown to pieces. Very nice effects with the sort of x-ray bone/spinal cord breaking, I like this movie over all. drew

Okay... I think Jet Li could do better, but he is so good in kung fu. It was "true", not tons of special effects put together. The storyline wasn't too great, but I have to admit that it was a good movie in general... Can't wait to see it again!! (btw, I'm so proud of Jet Li's english!! not bad at all!)

Interesting, I had never seen a movie with actual bugs in the special effects. The actors look like wired puppets, jerked left and right by their master, in a pathetic attempt to look like the Matrix... Sad.

I saw it and loved it. The music was great and of course it was funny ! Please don't pay attention to those who gave a score of 1/10, I guess it wasn't their type of movie. I'm not a big fan of action movies but I enjoyed very much this one... go see it.. it's worth it !

Movie had no substance... too many loose ends. Not enough real fight scenes. Corny love story (that hardly exists anyways). True Jet Li fans abstain, if you wish not to be dissapointed! Amateur fans to this gendre of movie will find it pretty good.

The movie was ok, but not better. The fights were normal, not outstanding for Jet Li. I guess the movie lacked intensity. We never have a feeling of rushing anywhere while watching it. Li seems to take his sweet time and go through everything so easily. Even the final fight was too short to make it memorable. You go to see these movies for the action, but I remember waiting quite a while between fights for the next one.

You can tell that this movie is related to Matrix. The computer editing for the skeleton and stuff.. I mean the fighting and kung- fu parts are cool but the story (so typical) needs to be a bit more (maybe) drama; a suprise .. it's Romeo, isn't it ??

I've read all the other comments and I'm afraid I'll only be echoing the general consensus. Jet Li is awesome. There's no dispute about this. However this movie just did not do him justice. Those who have only seen him in American films like Lethal Weapon 4 will think that this movie is great, but for those who have seen his Chinese films, we all know that Li's full potential wasn't used. The man is a bundle of martial art talent and he was only allowed to express a little of himself. Just to depict a little of his talent, those cool x-ray scenes were his idea. Unfortunately, I'm afraid he had absolutely no chemistry with Aaliyah. Directors, you have to start seeing cute asian guys like Li as sexual beings and give him a few kissing scenes at least. The plot left a little to be desired since I'm asian and I know how much family is valued above all in the asian society so the storyline was a bit hard to take. One good thing to come out of this is the soundtrack... I can't wait to get my hands on it. I recommend that people go see this movie because Jet is awesome and it's great to see an asian man play the lead.

As a big fan of Jet Li, I've seen all of his previous HK movies starting with "Shaolin Temple" to "Once Upon Time In China" and now "Romeo Must Die". And yes I love Kung-Fu fighting skills. You have to give credit to Jet Li's second american movie and understand this movie is produced by American not chinese which all of you asian fans and me have expected. Therefore, some of you might be upset of it because it's not a action fighting at the beginning untill the end but it has a strong story build in with two conflict cultures, the evolution of the main caracter and the action scenes come very naturally. Although, I have to admit that Jet Li's first speaking in english and his english is quite good though. This movie is not his best movie that I've seen but I believe it will help him to progress and understand more about the occidental mentality. If any of you guys still don't know Jet Li's previous HK films, here are his best movies has been released that I really liked: 1. My Father Is A Hero, 2. Fist Of Legend, 3. Once Upon Time In China 1,2,3 (Wong Fei Hung).

RMD was pretty cool, but I must say I was quite underwhelmed. The actors were all okay, except for Aliyah who does the most fake-looking crying I've ever seen. If they they'd put someone else in her place in could've been much better. Also the action scenes were very short and not elaborate at all. I expected them to compose a large part of the movie but instead were only about ten minutes of the whole thing. Delroy Lindo definitely brings up the whole movie.

This movie was somewhat of a disappointment... not enough DMX... Aliyah's acting was "okay"... but the story line dragged a little! There was a lot of action which helped to keep me awake through most of it, and Jet Li was his usual self (entertaining).

Whoever gave it a 10, are new to seeing Jet Li. It was alright, but not great. You watch Jet Li movies, to watch Jet Li in action, not some vague love story. You expect to see mindless action and nothing else. The action was decent, but definitely not enough of it, or Jet Li.

Romeo must die was the best movie, I've ever seen since Lethal Weapon 4. I really like Jet Li, he's my favourite actor in the martial arts. There is a lot of actions and I suggest to everyone to see this movie because it's very good.

To be fair, I was expecting alot from the movie that I end up being disapointed by it, so if you go see the movie without 'that much' expectation you'll be pleased by some good action sequences. Jet Li still has all his charm and martial skill as ever and the action scenes are above average. BUT my biggest turn off is that there's too much special effects that the fight scenes lost alot of his wonder. Poeple, Kung Fu don't make poeple defy gravity, in a way that's why I keep loving Jackie Chan movies better, everything is real, he don't lets producers mess up with his fight scenes with close camera angles or ridiculous stuffs. Since the main reason why poeple go see the movie is because of Jet Li fighting skill, but then his fight scenes are directed by incompetent producers, I have to downgrade the movie value. That said, Romeo must die is still a decent action movie for the fan of its genre I would recommand it for tuesday under 6$.

To the untrained eye of most North Americans, I'd give the movie a 10/10. However, if you asked anyone who've actually seen Jet Li's previous work or any other HK (Honk Kong) action flick, you'll agree that "Romeo Must Die" ain't that great of a movie. If you want a good martial arts movie, then do not watch it if it's not directed and choreographed by a HK crew. It would take american film makers at least a 10 years before they can reach that level.

You see almost all the fight sceens in the previews. There are about 3 fights that have something to do with the story, the rest is just pointless, yet still spectacular, filler (like the football scene). The reasons why the sons were killed are atrocious: "he died because he couldn't fly" and "because he was in the way"??? How were they in the way!?, they don't say!!! This movie had so much POTENTIAL!!!, but in the end, it seemed the writers just didn't know how to tie the loose ends. There were some great moments, but the last fight sucked, it had nothing special to it, except for the last blow.
