[...] True, it has no sex and no violence, but the basic storyline is true. The jokes are simple, one-liners that normal, everyday people say. Maybe "discerning" viewers should stick with hoity-toity, foreign, subtitled movies that impress their friends. The rest of the population will enjoy the movie, especially if you watched the moon walk and remember the excitement!

This was a wonderful film. Great acting and the aussie humor is always a breath of fresh air. It also takes you back to a very special time in our lives.

The Dish is a GREAT movie. Aussie movies are always the best & I think we should make more of 'em! The Castle was a masterpiece, but when it was americanized, the script was changed & the jokes were TOTALLY lost. Bugger.

A truly delightful movie. If you have done any kind of engineering or science you can appreciate the sly humor in the the characters' (at time) unorthodox scientific methodology. It was also good to see "Puddy" in a non-Puddy role. However, this is not for most American audiences, because they won't appreciate the humor and characters.

Excellent movie. Shows the best in humankind, not something we see very much in film.

Good fun, in the vein of _Local Hero_. A gentle comedy with uniformly good performances.

Funny, touching, engrossing. Not to like "The Dish" would be like not liking ice cream. Sam Neill is excellent, as is the entire cast of characters. The movie is based on a true story, and viewers will never think of Neil Armstrong in the same way again.

This movie could of never been done by an American Company! It would of been full of Pomp and tickertape, and support cast of shallow unknown extras that were completly forgetable, and eclipsed by one or two blockbuster icons. The Aussies always offer detail to each role player, the kind of detail you find in in great books full of interesting characters, they thrive on strong ensemble work. This movie is typical of many of Australia's best films in the last 20 years, The craft work and care to detail and continuity is first rate, with a super 60's soundtrack. If your looking for sex, car chases, and action... Don't bother. But if your enjoy a good story, great off the wall Aussie humor, bizaarre situations... and a story that asks WHERE WERE YOU ON THAT JULY DAY IN 1969, and what impact has that one step for man made on your life? It's worth the price of admission. Don't miss the DISH... It's more than a plate full. Rikki

Loved this film. Like a lot of other Aussie films, they poke fun at themselves. I love the subtle humour and the characterizations, and the little subplots. All parts were well acted, I especially enjoyed Keving Harrington and Tom Long. Also, it shows that Australia was involved in a part history in a way that not many North Americans are aware of.

This is certainly not a movie for JERKS who go to cinema just for sex and violence! A realistic yet interesting story, must see.

This movie is well acted & directed. With 'Working Dog Productions' taking the helm again after their succesful aussie satire 'The Castle'. Very similar to their previous production, but with a little bit of history & character. All round a good effort.

This movie is funny in parts, warm, well-acted and well worth seeing. It has romance - in ways not necessarily familiar in current movies. Shy love, lost love and love of fellow human beings. Sam Neil is particularly good as the Director. Recommended.

This movie has no sex, no violence and no story. It may be recommended family viewing but any discerning viewer will find it desperately dull. The characters are cardboard cut-outs and the jokes are incredibly lame.
