Jet Li never was, is or will be a good actor. Now with all the new movies coming out, I think it is time to pull out the One from the screens to make place to better movies. The One was not only disappointing. It also angered me to see how they could release a film of such poor quality.

I went to see this movie with my friends and this movie was the best one I've ever seen!!! Such good Matrix-style action, great choreography and an ILL storyline! We all thought it was THICK!!

I cannot believe people giving 10 for this sorry excuse of a movie... I give it a BIG ZERO!!! It SUCKED BIG TIME. Incredible waste of ones life, better stay home and watch paint peal off. BOOOOOOO!!! Please, people of good taste, help me bring down this average. It is an injustice to the people that will go after us and waste more time and money. Let us stop this tragedy.

I'm very disappointed after I saw this movie. The movie is only concentrated on the actions side, no content. Also, I don't really like the fighting effect of the movie... Looks like in video games and not real. Anh.

I was quiet disappointed by this movie. I expected some good story like the Matrix. But nothing comparable. - story: They took the story from the famous french movie Highlander (1987). What is going to happen when it will remain only one Highlander... - special effect: They looks very much like those in the movie "Matrix". Nothing more. - fight scenes: Nothing compared to asian movies. They moved their arms desesperatly (trying to reach some bugs maybe). In short, don't go to watch this movie, you already saw better than this one.

Whilst I was ready to see a movie with more action than acting, I never thought I would leave this disappointed. There wasn't any real effort from the actors, especially Jet Li who looked rather farsical as a LA cop. The credit goes to the special effects department for the entertaining aspect of the movie. Whilst not a Matrix, they did well to make the movie a little worthwhile.

Too much computer technique, the portion of kung fu is not as much as that in "The Kiss of the Dragon". And I think that Jet Li now is trying to do some changes, so this time the storyline is a bit better, still not good enough though.

First of all, "The One" is not "The Matrix", it's 2 different movies. Yes, there are some special effects which ware used in "The Matrix". However, "The Matrix" bullet time effect was done way long before in Hong Kong movies in the early 90's! So does that mean Matrix sucks? Anyways, back to the review, the storyline from "The One" makes sense and the fight scenes were very impressive to watch. Jet Li's english has improved a lot for someone who never talked english in the last 30 years. When I went to the cinema, I was already prepared to watch a SCI-FI movie and not a MARTIAL ART movie. So I give this movie a 9/10 for its great storyline, cool effects and out of this world fight scenes. -1 point because it's not lenghy enough to get more details out of the characters.

Jet Li, nowadays is getting like VAN DAM or Chuck Norris. Story is so common and makes no sense "in a modern time, people can travel between universes but still using bullet Gun as weapon" people in Hollywood so funny sometimes. In HK, so many other martial arts actors are much better than Jet Li. I warranty that many asian will disappoint about this B movie.

In a perfect world, movie artists from other countries would be able come to the United States and make films just as good, and be just as successful, as those they make in their homelands. But as we all know, this isn't a perfect world, and things don't work that way, especially for stars who have come stateside from Hong Kong.

Hmmmm what else can I say... Very hot special fx. The story is... did I mention, very hot special fx? I'd like to add precision as for the length of the movie (1h27). From the first frame to the last (without the ending credits) it's actually 1h20!! So at an average $9 entrance, you pay $0.11 a minute. FX worth seeing on a large screen, but at a $5 Tuesday/Wednesday price.

The title the One reveals everything about the movie. There is only One good actor in this movie and it is certainly not Jet Li. Jet Li's performance was pathetic and I don't know why there are movie companies out there who accept to produce movies with him it in. However, the best scene was the one where Jet Li hit another guy with a motorcycle. This is the best piece of comeday I've ever scene. Nevertheless, the One only deserve a rating of One on ten.

The first thing that came to mind while I was watching The One was that it's like The Matrix and Time Cop combined together. But that's not to say this movie is anywhere near as good as The Matrix... If you're expecting something as good as that, you'll be severly disappointed. The action was pretty cool, but nothing ground shattering. But if you started to think even the slightest bit during the movie, it became completely stupid. It's worth paying to see on the bigscreen for the action and sound.

All similarity with The Matrix I saw was the ultra fast martial arts... Comparing these two movies The Matrix was more like new age style and The One is like a profound pop. Maybe that's why it didn't make it :).

I found that this movie was very good but very exagerated. It was in the same style as the Matrix. Well almost every movie now has a bit of the Matrix scenes in them. It gets to be very confusing though because it is hard to difference the bad Jet Li and the good Jet Li. Anyway overall it was a great movie. I think people of my age would love it.

Don't get me wrong... Jet Li rocks, and the movie's fight scenes are amazing, special effects were well done. Though you will be leaving that theatre expecting more. They had a great story and plot, just should have been worked on a bit more. I'm glad I went to see Monsters Inc first this weekend, way worth it.

I saw the " The One" the second day of its release in the big screens. The movie plot and ideas are really unique and has its own kind of creativity and style. The idea of culturalism was also brought about in this movie. The movie starts off with action right away which is a good technique to use to capture the attention of the audience. The action scenes were disapointing in the eye of martial art actor Jet Li. Too much special effects which made his pure martial art fade away in the background. The only so called better scenes was the final battle between himself. The most ridiculous scene was the two motorcycle where he help both and smashed them against the police officer. The movie was for sure not worth 12 bucks but perhaps worth the money when you rent it on video.

The CGI (Computer Generated Interface) is awesome, although not ground braking. To make a long story short, "The one" is more of a "me too" movie than anything else. Could be ok to watch on an airplane or as a second choice at the movie rental. Maximus.

This movie was ok. It wasn't the greatest movie in world but it didn't suck so much that I wanted to leave the theatre. I suggest that you save it for when it comes out on video. I give it about a 6 or 7.

When the movie starts and you see those long camera shots looking at the police's shoulder badges and then when they suit up the camera makes a close up on their police logo... The first thing that goes in you mind is "man does the director suck!!! " Jet Li might be good technical fighter and martial artist but he has alot of trouble using his knowldge creativly (the final fight reeks). Jet Li is a terrible actor, stone cold expressions and corny dialogue. He does a terrible job when acting as the "good" one and making him behave diffrently then the "evil" one. Jet Li is unable to display emotion, totatlly unable to act. The begining of the movie is not bad, all the great stuff happens in the first quarter of the movie. But as soon as Delroy Lindo dies, forget it the rest of the movie starts to suck after that (because Linod is the only real actor in the hole movie). Jet Li tries to hard to copy Bruce Leee and does a terrible job of it. In the movie, Jet rips off Bruce Li's headlock kick and Bruce Li's flip kick. What about the rest of the cast? Delroy Lindo and his partner are the only ones who have charisma in the movie, the rest of the cast totaly reek of suckiness. If you like martial arts and action movies, do youself a favor. Don't watch "The One". Go watch Iron Monkey instead, te actors of Iron Money atleastare able to show emotional expressions in their face (unlike Jet Li who sucks).

Look, overall this movie was really very cool. Good ideas, great action scenes. The main problem is the length, the movie reaches it's climax when it should be around the mid point. The movie was about an hour long, maybe an hour and fifteen minutes. Hardly the length of a major motion picture, and therefore I say wait to see it on video. Wait till you can see it on video at a cheap price.
