This movie rocked. The special effects were amazing. They picked good music for it too. You should go and see this movie as soon as possible. This movie definitely goes in my top favorite movies.

Thought that the new kind of action (the mix of slow and fast) was a very nice touch. I believe that this movie makes The Matrix eat its heart out. It has a well done plot and great effects. Suggested for action/kung fu/cybernetic freaks =).

This movie wasn't that good, me and my girlfriend (I love you honey :) saw it for free cause we had free passes, but it wasn't worth it, and I went back the next day to see it cause my friends wanted to see it, I told them it was alright but I wanted them to get their own opinion on the movie, I guess next time I will tell them its pretty bad. The mix of actors was pretty bad. I know that Li and Lindo were in "Romeo Must Die" together, but I think they should have ended the relationship there, I guess they wanted to work together so bad that they would be in any movie... Thank God it wasnt Bandits, but anyways I really didnt enjoy this movie, and the second time around was no picnic, but I didn't pay for either..... I'm giving a 5 out of pitty for the actors cause I think they thought this movie was going to amount to something... I love you Lisa.

Oh man... Please. First, where DID the movie go? It ended as I was just getting comfortable. It was a lot like Matrix, but it had a great idea. Just not enough of "that" that makes a good movie great. I dunno... You should go see it, but don't rush.

I completely agree to what a previous poster said: "There is a complete lack of character development. There is an uneasy lack of affection between Gabriel and his wife. The storyline is weak to say the very least. However, the special effects and fighting sequences are worth the price of admission alone". I 100% agree! The movie starts out very well in that matter, but perhaps the final fight scene is a bit disappointing. And it is true that the movie's definitely a bit short... 1 hour 30? We feel we've been kind of ripped off on movie length...

WOW!. Was I ever let down. I mean I love Jet Li in Kung Fu movies but I think I now have the confirmation that he is not to be casted as an action hero in american-type films... He was great in Kiss of the Dragon though... I guess it's a matter of finding the right script... The plot is weak and the concept not dealt with in an intersting manner. Sorry... Despite the "cool" effects, which were all too familiar, this one does not achive a paasing grade my scale. I love Jet Li but he has to be careful about how he is being casted in American films... He should make sure his fighting talents are the focus of the film as opposed to his acting... At least until he masters English enough to be credible in such a role.

The One is really the Pygmalion Effect at Work, in that it deserves the "One" point that I give it. Great concept, very bad movie. Cardboard cut-out have more stage presence. If you wish to see a great martial artist at work, rent any Bruce Lee movie (he didn't need special effects to look good). Also, I have a great idea! Why not cast Jet Li, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolf Lundgren as identical twins with speech impediments that have to protect Silverster Stallone from Arnold Schwartzeneger. It would be the first english movie with english sub-titles, a milestone. Seriously, avoid this LEMON! Your life is to precious to waste.

If you wanna see Jet Li kicking his own ass for an hour and a half, THIS is definitely the movie to see... Worth a good laugh (the plot is soooo stupid) and gives anybody a full dose of adrenaline... I've never been that pumped up after a movie, than after seeing THE ONE... A must see for all Jet Li fans, cuz you got 2 for the price of 1! *giggles*.

All I can say is that this movie is really good... All I did was freak out when I saw all the action cause it looked like the Matrix... I enjoyed it a lot but the only this is that then ending was a little poor... But the story rocked and I recommend it to all you action packed freaks!

I went to the advance screening of this movie cause I had some free passes. Thank goodness I didn't pay because this movie was just awful. I sat there thinking "Please tell me there's more to this". I went with a whole bunch of people and we all felt the same... Disappointed. It reminded me a lot of TIMECOP, with Van Damme. They left some of the story line just hanging and some of it didn't even make sense. It was also only like an hour long. I don't usually write a review for crappy movies but since it was a JET LI movie and I was expecting a lot more, I just wanted to tell people not to go see this movie. Wait til it comes out on video. The way it's going, it should be out on video next month.

'The One' is not a very good movie. I'm a big Jet Li fan, and I've seen every single Jet Li movie, but his recent movies just sucked sh*t. It's not as good as it could've been. There were some cool scenes, but in a whole, it's not slick enough.

The movie was very hyped up, and expectations were set too high. You have to remember that Jet-Li is a martial atist, not a actor. This is why the story line was very weak but the action, and speacial effects kept the movie alive. If you're an action fan and love Jet-li's movie's then this is a movie to see. It could have been better, but I was satisfied in then.

This movie was excellent. There is non stop action. The only real martial arts action is the end fight with good/bad jet, but it is an awesome, awesome fight worth going to see, trust me. Highly recommended!

OK, so it's title should have been "The Other One", in deference to the two (excellent) movies that seem to have inspired the plot, and it lacks the depth of either, but damn are the special effects cool! Immersive in a way that makes you want to believe... and the rest of the movie doesn't suck.

Good fighting scenes... Unfortunately, there is so much special effects that it sometimes distracts the viewer from the action, but all in all, it was worth seeing it on a big screen. Like a lot of other fans, I'm glad to see Jet Li as his old self again, but I wish he would stay clear of the mushy stuff: it just doesn't suit him. Still, a movie worth seeing, at least as good as all the other more recent films Jet Li has been in (e.g. Kiss of the Dragon) for the fight scenes.

The action is extremely well done. It uses Matrix kind of fighting style but it is even better than Matrix. The fighting scenes really make you feel amazed how can they design for having such an unbelievable fighting technic. Besides, the whole movie is really intense and you won't have anytime for going to bathroom.

As everyone else must think, great FXs, poor story line. A bit hard to judge wether it's worth it to see it in cinema, as the FX make it a big screen event, but the poor content makes it fine for home tv. As good compromise: half price tuesdays or matinees.

THIS MOVIE WAS BEYOND PATHETIC... . it's sad how somebody thought that they could actually pull off trying to remake THE MATRIX... . the only thing that was even half decent about the entire movie was the music... . and even then the music was not used very well... . I AM VERY SORRY I SPENT MONEY TO SEE THIS MOVIE... . and I feel super bad for Jet Li... hopefully his next movie will surpass this one... The best thing about the whole movie was laughing at the teenage boy who was sitting in front of us wearing a bonet!

Jet Li keeps making bad movies. After the Black Mask and Romeo Must Die, two disgraces to the art of filmaking, he comes back with the One, which just accentuates the decay of his reputation as an actor. This is not an action movie, it's rather a comedy. I mean, I know that it is science-fiction, but hitting a guy with a motorcycle and kicking another one in mid-air is just plain ridiculous. The motorcycle trick didn't impress me at all, instead it was so fake that I couldn't stop laughing.

This movie was a little bit dissapointing. The action/fighting scenes weren't as cool as in some other action movies. I was hoping for the type as seen in Iron Monkey. The plot was ok but became a bit stupid, the whole thing just didn't have synergy. I'd give it 7, but according to 7's description, it's "worth seeing", though it's not. 6 it is!

WAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! ~ THIS MOVIE IS HORRIBLE!!! I just can't believe that I spend my money on this... I dunno where they got 1:37 of movie length, but the movie is actually around 1 hour... It started at 5:30 and finished at 7:00 and the previews are considerably long... Honestly, this should be avoided... I put a 2 because the action is there... Only one fighting scene. I dunno why you people liked it... Jet Li... you are dead to me now.

Take a bit from Highlander, a bit from the Matrix and you get a good concept, but only that. This movie sucked big time. I went expecting to have a great time, the theater was packed and the movie was bad. A very big disspointment... Delroy was probably drunk when he accepted the part and so was Statham most likely. Jet Li's English is getting a bit better though; kudos to him. Not even the martial arts were good.

If you've seen the preview you've seen the whole movie! The screenplay sucks! Basically you just want them to shut up and get to the fighting! The effects are cool but not that smooth! Don't walk in expecting THE MATRIX.

Why the hell do people compare "the Matrix" movie to this one? Matrix was good but it's have lots of boring macho BS talks ("I know Kun-FU"? , take this drug n'you get this, take that 1 n'you get that? How cheezy can you get? Talk about Alice in wonderland). The "One" on the other hand, is an all out action movie. You want great actions? Go see this movie. Looking for something else? Go see something else.
