[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The scene that I fail to understand was the one in which eli and tom meet tom's parents. What was the purpose of the argument at brunch and why did they leave.

This was a really fantastic movie. I rented it on a whim, as it boasted Christina Ricci, who is favoo, and that sweetie from Two Guys and a Girl, Richard Ruccolo, who is dreamy. Well, the plot is fantastic, the characters are very well developed, and you actually care about them. They are flawed and beautiful, at times fantastic people, at times jerks. I won't be as pie-eyed as to say that it's like ''real life'', but it does ring true. That makes a good movie. You really leave giving a crap about the characters. Excellent movie. I highly recommend it.

I don't feel that this movie should be pigeon-holed as a gay movie. The story is about a gay & hetro couple. It speaks to me on a human-level regardless of sexual orientation.

A feel-good romantic comedy that avoids to fall into the too predictable, surprisingly. The acting is fluid and I found that there was great chemistry between the two main characters. The lack of stereotypes about the gay world (clubs, drag queens etc.), as well as the "normalization" of the gay couple was also refreshing. The characters have depth and the relationship saga goes beyond the typical I-hate-you-I-love-you canonical simplification often seen. So basically the movie was great. And there are some funny bits. Just one thing, I would've liked to see more of Lisa Kudrow and Christina Ricci.
