The movie was great. It had a good script that leads right into Resident Evil 0, 1, & 2. This film is has awesome special effects the cg sequences are amazing and the movie rocked. What else can I say?

For a video game movie it was great (much better than Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy) Milla Jovovich is beautiful, the music is great (for the film...) I can't wait for the sequel, if of course there is one.

Better than I had expected because I expect next to nothing from video game-inspired movies, and I'm a video game junkie. The first half of Resident Evil is a bit confusing, but provides some definite frights; I thought my girlfriend was about to have a seizure or something. It's loud, it's violent, it's a good translation of the video game series. And it gets repetitive. After a while, you think you're watching Night of the Living Dead or something like that. It is enjoyable, however, in a B-movie sort of way.

Un film d'horreur! Mais quelle horreur! J'ai détesté ce film et je me suis ennuyée du début à la fin. Une imitation d'Alien ou je ne sais quoi. Trop de personnages principaux dans ce scénario. Une fausse Tomb Raider aux yeux renversés (Michelle Rodriguez) qui m'a semblé vouloir voler le rôle de l'actrice Milla Jovovich. Un film qui n'a aucune saveur.

Plot was to the point, simple, and got straight to the action delivering great thrills and suspense all the way through. Sony Pictures already started work on Resident Evil: Nemesis last week so I'm looking forward to the sequels.

I only think of 2 words to describe this movie TOO SWEET! You did not have to play the games to understand what this movie it is about! It is very well expleined and the action! Breath taking! You will be sitting on the edge of your seats! Go see it! 10-10 *can't wait for the second one!

Sorry, but NO sale. The preview introduces this film as a horrific adventure with Matrix-like special effects... Truth is Resident Evil relies on typical elements that lack inventiveness to boost its image and cash in. Granted, there a few surprising scares here and there; Yes, there are gruesome scenes, yes there is unrequired nudity, yes there are guns being fired, and explosions, yes there is somewhat of a storyline, but there is a LOT of déjà vu and incoherences... If you like the abovementioned, you will enjoy, if you're looking for a refined desert, forget it with a capital F..

Okay here is the meats of it... If you've played the video game... DON'T BOTHER WITH THE MOVIE!!! Asides from the action sequences... I can't say much more for the plot... It's attempt at scaring the audience overshadowed the entire movie. Cheap scare tricks and massive misuse of dramatic queing made the movie tedious... This movie is for the hardcore fans.

Wow! At first, I thought this was going to be one of those crappy run-of-the-mill money-making movies... However, as soon as the picture began, I realised that this was not going to be the case!!! The action is non-stop, the music soundtrack is quite excellent, and the atmosphere is just amazing. But most of all, the visual effects will blow you away!!! After this, I doubt you will get a good night sleep, oh and by the way, don't let the bed bugs bite!!!

Resident Evil was the coolest show ever made, lots of scenes that scared the living crap out of me, and that's what I like is when a show can scare the crap out of me, very good movie but why does the cute girl die and the ugly wrench live! I mean if you know rain she is cute, well I just hope there will be another resident evil but longer and of course just as good! YA RESIDENT EVIL RULES!

A pleasant surprise for a movie based on a video game franchise. Definitely the best video game adaptation yet. Good and well-paced action, solid special effects and decent acting and storyline. Milla Jojovich is credible as a kick-ass action hero. Not a dull moment and a bit of originality at times. But for the ultimate chills and thrills in the flesh-eating zombie category, check out George Romero's "Day of the Living Dead", part 2 of his trilogy at your local video store or Peter Jackson's Brain Dead (yes, the director of Lord of the Rings himself).

I liked the movie for the first part. However, it becomes predictable and not so interesting in the second half. Go get some adrenaline, but be ready to find some stupid things too, like Zombies of 80's.

I can understand why some people like this movie but to be quite honest I didn't like it that much. Maybe I'm not getting the full effect because I didn't spend god knows how many hours playing the damn game. If you haven't played the game don't expect to be blown away in the least, as a movie it's nothing special.

This was a great rendition of the video game. Going in I was a little mad that they weren't using the names from the game but now it makes sense because it they did then the people who played the game will know exactly whats going on. The way they did it was excellent and I'm sure they'll rank in enough mullah to support the second movie. A must see in my eyes, unless you don't like this type of stuff but if you do then you must go see it.

If I could gives this movie a higher score I would, only to make up for those who ruin this movies rating by giving it anything below a 9, it was that good. Resident evil without a question is this years best horror movie. If Lord of the Rings was the best book to movie translation, then Resident Evil easily wins the prize for best game to movie translation. It's a gory, it's twisted, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire movie.

It was an excellent movie, if I could give it 11/10 I would. There are 3 people on ths review board that gave it a bad review obveiusly they missed the point of the movie and writers cant be responsible for insufficient intellect to understand something. This movie would please just about anyone who would watch it fan or not. If youre a fan youll be satisfied since it holds true to everything the game is about. If youre not a fan you still should enjoy it and (Im sure this was indented by the producers) you might want to check out the games. My conclusion is if you like the game, if you like horror movies, and if you like jumping out of your seat go see this movie, the only people who shouldnt see this movie is those who lack the basic intellect to understand it. But you dont have to take my word for it.
