Worth seeing just for the performance of Adam Sandler, who is brilliant and really caries the movie. A good example of a leading performance that's better than the movie itself. Couldn't really say I enjoyed watching it all that much. A lot of the time I felt uncomfortable and embarrased for the guy. Still I have to admit it's a powerful film, particularly the scenes where you watch the stress and pressure build up inside his head until he explodes. I didn't think much of Emily Watson's performance and I didn't think the two had any chemistry on the screen together. The love story didn't really work, it didn't make sense that he should fall in love with this woman for no particular reason. If you want to see a really great movie along the same lines, check out "Secretary". Also quirky and original, it's a real love story, and it's everything I had expected from "Punch-Drunk Love" but didn't get.
