Loved it... Cate is fantastic... kept building to the dramatic finish. The beautiful music/soundtrack kept running through my mind hours later. What a brave woman Veronica was. I only thought she wasn't a fool after seeing how her death affected Ireland's drug laws. Good did come from a very bad death. She truly cared so much for the children.

A great film with hard hitting ending, which we all knew was coming but neverless still saddens the hardest of souls. Cate Blanchet was stunning in her protrail of Veronica I was left with disbelief that this woman would continue to highlight these maniacs who beat, shot and eventually killed her leaving her loving husband and child behind. I questioned the fact that what she had done was unselfish but in the same way selfish because of who she had left behind. Neverless as great woman, great film, and as Veronica Im sure would want, a great story.

Cate Blanchett is a very talented actress... she portrays incredibly this very courageous woman, veronica guerin... the film is very touching, the fact that it's based on real events makes it that much more inspirating that in todays world there still exists people that will die for an important cause to save our children... inspirating, moving, it's unbeleivably amazing that not too many years ago a woman of this calibur lived and died to save the children of dublin... tear jerker...

The story of a journalist and parent taking on the scum of the earth is a great one. In the movie the plot is too staight forward, too simplistic. I wanted a more indebt look and intrigue, not just Mom talks to bad guys and gets shot. It's a Touchstone film and maybe I want too much. GO SEE IT, Veronica Guerin is a real life hero.

I really enjoyed it. The acting was great. I do think they could have expressed better, the fact that she must have known she was in serious danger. I wanted to cry after the movie, not during.

She new she was doomed, her methods were not understood, but she laid here life down and saved many in return. We do not understand the concept of sacrafice and laying your life down for your neighbors. The proof was in the results. Cate Blanchett tells the story well.

I thought this was a terrific movie, and Cate Blanchett was amazing. She is an incredibly versatile actress who seems to be able to remake herself with each role. This movie depicted the gritty realities of both Dublin and the drug scene, without falling prey to typical "hollywood" style big budget type of movies. I really enjoyed it.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Cate Blanchett must have played Veronica Gurein well as I thought the woman was totally bonkers! It leaves one wondering about her sanity? Why would she feel she nor her family would not be hurt or encroached on by those criminals? She seems to be coddled and indulged by her family and colleagues as she forsakes her son to obsessively pursue "the story"!! Her interview techniques were questionable, brash and egocentric. You wonder, is this is good journalism? I felt she found a venue in which to launch herself in the media, with little real compassion for the children who were dying, (in more ways than one), on the streets. Where were the social interventions for youth and drug addiction? Do they not exist in Ireland? She exposed the criminals, who themselves seemed above any law. Now the laws that protected criminal activity have changed, the bad guys have gone to jail and a son is left without his mom after the killing of Veronica Guerin. I am left shaking my head!

A magnificent, hard-hitting, realistic film based on the true-life story of Irish journalist, Veronica Guerin. (pronounced "gearin") Cate Blanchett gives an Oscar-calibre performance as the murdered journalist. She met with people who knew Veronica while researching the role, therefore, she gives Veronica's story the respect and accuracy it deserves. There are some violent scenes but they aren't gratuitious. Unfortunately, they are true and necessary to tell the story. Don't forget your Kleenex.
