Kill Bill is like Charlie's Angels meets The Matrix, so anyone who likes those movies, Pulp Fiction and/or is a fan of Quentin Tarantino, will probably like it. I found Kill Bill interesting and impressive for the most part - kudos to Uma Thurman, Vivica A. Fox, and Lucy Liu for learning all those martial arts moves; must've taken them months (even though some of them were hard to believe) Love Daryl Hannah as the one-eyed evil nurse! She looks good in that uniform! Too bad she doesn't perform any martial arts in the movie, lol. She still looks good for her age! (God I sound like a guy) I found the animation more violent than the actual movie! Some people don't like that there's animation in it. They say they didn't go to watch a cartoon, but I think it adds to the variety (it is Quentin afterall) Some people walked out of the theatre I was in. I wondered why they were so shocked; have these people lived sheletered lives or never seen Pulp Fiction/heard of Tarantino? I can be pretty conservative, so I can still be surprised by things, but I give movies a chance and I don't walk out of theatres; I find that rude. Had those people held on until the end of the movie, they might actually have enjoyed themselves. Their loss. A tip to those people or anyone who is like that: it helps to watch this film with an open mind and if you can learn to expect anything from Quentin Tarantino; I have. But really, is anything we see in movies these days shocking anymore? The more I see, the more I get densitized; wonder if that's good or bad. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and it's a free world though. A few things I found hokey about the movie: the music at the beginning (it is Quentin afterall!), the blood spurting from the body parts as they're being cut off (it is Quentin afterall!) and the black and White sequence where the blood looks like water? Does blood really spurt out like that when a limb is severed? Maybe for the first few seconds or so? If anyone's ever seen a limb being severed, feel free to answer my question; thanks. I also found Julie Dreyfus who plays Sofie Fatale still being alive after getting her arm cut off a bit hard to believe. Is that realistic? Does it depend on where you're cut or something? She should at least have been drifting in and out of consciousness with the loss of blood and all, but I saw no evidence of that. Other than that, for those of us who like movies like this, it hooks you and keeps you watching to see what happens next as the the story is told; love the narration by Uma. Good dialogue, good acting - Uma is brilliant, good action sequences and a few laughs; don't miss it. Quentin has a sick sick mind... in a good way of course. ;) If I said what my favourite parts are, I'd give away the movie. I'll probably get it when it comes out on DVD as there's lots of details in it and it's one of those movies you have no problem watching over and over again to catch anything you might have missed the time before. Happy watching! For those of you who haven't seen it already and are planning on it, hope you enjoy! :) Can't wait for the next volume in 2004! "Wiggle your big toe". ;)
