An ambitious documentary that is visually stimulating and thought provoking. That said, I think it was a little too long and probably could have been more effective had it been a little less ambitious in trying to dramatize so many corporate evils in one film. The comparison of the corporation with that of a psychopath is for dramatic effect, but it effectively makes the point that business corporations elevate the profit motivation over and above all other considerations including social responsibility. The film does not naively advocate revolution or social upheaval but instead advocates corporate responsibility and sustainability and promotes an awareness that corporate exploitation is subtle, disguised and very often exported to the third world. The filmmakers realize that the corporate form very effectively satisfies many of our emotional and material needs, and given this reality advocates greater participation by individuals in the democratic political process in order to check and balance the ever increasing power and influence of the ubiquitous corporate entity. A generally positive message for all to consider and act on.
