I don't expect much from movies anymore, I have been disappointed so often... but this little gem was wonderful, clever and charming! We laughed and were totally drawn in by the witty mocking and scintillating dialogue. I thought Helen Hunt wrong for the part at first, but she eventually won me over... and there is the point! Go see it... we are going again just for the conversations ~.

This movie is worth seeing because of the performances of Tom Wilkinson, Helen Hunt and Scarlett Johansson - as well as some wonderful cinematography. The story telling is a bit sloppy at times and could have been better if the film adhered more on the play upon which it is based (Lady Windermere's Fan)

Terrible movie. I'm not sure it wasn't the Worst Movie I've ever seen so I didn't rate it a 1. If it was the worst movie I've ever seen I would have rated it a 0 if I could. The acting was plastic, the story was dumb, the scenes were predictable. A shame for Helen Hunt who was a good actress. She delivered her lines like a robot. Scarlett Johansson is sexy but not in this movie. She acted stilted. Maybe it was the direction that was bad. But it was bad. Don't waste your money on this one. Don't even rent it.

It was a good movie with very beautiful scenes from Italy ;however, I was kind of lost at the end that Meg believed that his husband was just paying Mrs. Erlynne and she didn't ask even why on earth he was paying her or why he was being blackmailed by her.

I both liked and disliked the movie. Disliked it because the story seemed too routine, long, uneventful at times. I loved it because the ending with Helen Hunt as "The Good Woman" really did salvage it. The performance by Scarlett however is not to be undermined by my appreciation of the story. She did do a wonderful job..
