This movie is a mess. The story is weak and the acting is bad. Ultravoliet deserves a lower Mark but there are flashes of brilliance sprinkled throughout. A motorcycle chase up the side of a building was unique and an outfit that changes depending on the hero's surrounding is a nice touch. There are several scenes that are original. However, in most cases the special effects required to pull off these unique ideas, such as the bike chase, are very poor. Had the movie been placed in the hands of a capable director it may have been an above average sci-fi actioner. As it stands this movie is guilty of having all style and no substance. It probably would have worked better as an animated film.

When I first saw the previews for this movie I believed that this movie was going to be a let down. I also believed the storyline was going to be aweful and the movie only based around action. But what I saw surprised me. It wasnt nearly as bad as I expected it to be. If anything, I would say it is both well done and a great flick. Of course, the action was awesome, the special effects were as well. But the storyline was well thought out and made sense. It was not at all confusing, but there were some instances were you had to figure things out on your own. But one of the things that continues to confuse me is why would they make her hair turn violet only twice? And then only in the beginning of the movie? It was like they got lazy and forgot to change it again. Other than that, this movie is one that I would be willing to see more than twice.
