Solid movie. A bit predictable, but very emotional. I felt for her throughout the movie. Definitely worth seeing.

Heartwarming, charming, very touching. Renée Zellweger is adorable... Ewan McGregor is great as usual, stumbling on his words, looking like a total gentleman.

A kind of strangely enchanting tale about a woman that succeeds despite enormous odds, finds the love of her life on her way, etc. I couldn't think of another actress that would have been better suited for this role. Renee's expressiveness, spontaneous nature and endearing personality totally fit with the role. The movie itself was simple and enchanting in a way.

For a raving cynic, I found myself enjoying this flick. Don't expect a masterpiece, but it's warmth and lightness shines through. The infrequent addition of animation ties the story together nicely. It took me back to 1951, when I first heard the story of Peter Rabbit.

The movie lived up to my expectations. Great movie! Renee Zellweger was fabulous as Miss Potter. The animation was amazing and the characters really came to life off the page. I found myself engrossed in the story as it went along. I would recommend this movie to anyone!

One word: bland. No drama and no character development. I suppose one may call it realistic and heartwarming. But if you are looking for something interesting, you will be disappointed.

This movie is like a bedtime story for kids, full of imagination and portrays the life of a true artist of fantasy. It is indeed a charming, beautifully crafted story of "Peter Rabbit" author Beatrix Potter and her bittersweet romance with the awkward young publisher of her books. This kind of quality film that's all too rare now days!

Beautiful scenery, nice animation. Renee Zellweger is not believable in the role of Miss Potter, too cutesy and twitchy by half.

If Beatrix Potter had as boring a personality as portrayed by Ms. Zellweger, then I guess this was a good movie. Any biopic will have interesting events and the vistas were beautiful but this film will never make my top ten list.

Without knowing any premise about this movie, I went in with an open mind. I came out thoroughly unmoved and indifferent to this movie. There is simply no conflict whatsoever. Whatever "conflict" there is, it was banal and unimaginative. This movie is like a bedtime story for kids, cast in the days of old when single women had little choice but to become housewives. The movie brings nothing new to the table and wasn't worth the $10 I paid for.

The movie brings you back at the time that woman was only a housewife, but she is a real personality. Renee's portrayal of Beatrix Potter as a hero and role model of a talented and determined author was inspired. Must see movie. Very nice scenery and music.

Everything about it was tasteful. The music should be up for an Oscar Award. The photography and animation was superb.

Wonderful, wonderful movie!! Renee's portrayal of Beatrix Potter as the gentle, determined author was inspired. I took my 10 year old granddaughter to see it, and she was spell bound. Despite the era and cultural differences, Beatrix was/is a hero and role model. The cinematography was beautifully done..

This Beatrix Potter biopic is told with a mostly light touch, although it reveals that her life was at times cruelly tragic. The film's whimsical style and use of animation successfully convey the author's childlike personality and rich imagination. She was ahead of her times in so many ways: proto-feminist, artist, career woman of independent financial means, nature conservationist. The film is breathtakingly beautiful to watch, with its gorgeous country scenery and luxurious city shots. Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellweger maintain the easy chemistry they established in Down with Love. Potter's many fans will be particularly charmed and fascinated by the movie.

Don't miss it if you want to see Potter brought to life. Zellweger accurately portrays Beatrix, and the Gazette reviewers were all wet again. Walked out after film feeling I had been entertained which many modern movies fail to do. MacGregor adapted to role with his typical superb "into character" skills. *****.

I loved this movie. It made me wish I had lived in those times. Except for class levels of the time. If you are looking to see a film that will make you laugh and louch your heart this is the film to see. The Brits are the best when it comes to films.

Absolutley maginificent! One is transported into the Edwardian era as only the British can do. The sets are opulent and the lake country scenery is inspiring. The story is captivating and Potter's charming characters (Peter Rabbit etc. ) occasionally come to life to add to the enchantment and aid in the telling of it. The two main characters are beautifully portrayed by Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. A must see!
