User's review

I often wait for years, and pay a lot of money to have a one of a kind experience during a movie, which rarely ever comes. On Saturday afternoon I finally had that experience. I was never a big fan of the Batman series until Batman -The beginning, and this movie looked like it could be something great. That is an understatement. For the first time I am extremely conscientious about how I review a movie because this movie truly deserves a well thought out review. The directing and editing in this film was as perfect as I have ever seen. The supporting actors were A+. Christian Bale is excellent (his voice was a bit annoying but that can be overlooked) The cinematography was unbelievable. How the movie was filmed was absolutely stimulating, especially when it came to the Joker. And the Joker, what can you say to do justice to this perfect piece of acting? I'll try to do it justice. The way Heath Ledger dreamed up this character and then pulled it off on the big screen is truly amazing. The voice, the subtle movements of his body and face, the not so subtle movements, the make-up and hair, the creepy images he leaves in your mind (standing in front of the hospital), are, to put it simply, OUTSTANDING!!! What a shame he won't be able to receive his Oscar award for this character. It is in my opinion the greatest portrayal of any villain ever. So it might be in your best interest to see this at a theatre and not wait for the DVD. It is worth the $8.00.
