Digital movies have come a long way. I really enjoyed it, and liked the message. Visually pleasant.

This movie everyone must see! Ya, in someparts it's a little scary... but not too scary!!! Puls, this shows it has scary parts so thats no our problem if you never saw that and still took your kids to it. That just means that your kids got scared easily but, that doesn't mean the movie's bad! It just has scary parts. SO WHAT!

The movie was beautiful. But it is quite slow and boring. Moreover, there are not much happy scenes.

Not a good movie for younger kids. Too scary. My kids asked to go home and get put to bed. Good 3D and special effects. Bad movie.

Superb animation. Jim Carrey does it again. Some diversions from Dickens original story which was a nice change. Some scenes may be frightening for young children. Go see it.

It starteld me all the time and the ghosts freaked me out!! I didn't get what the english people were talking about most of the time. But it was a good story, the only thing I don't agree with is when Ebenezer becomes nicer to others for his own perposes. Oh well that is my thought of the movie/ story. Enjoy!!

What a piece of overblown movie making. It's as if the special effects guys were showing off what they could do, with no reason except to play with digitalism. Scary and stupid.

Great 3D. Great moral. I went to this movie thinking it was a comedy for some reason. Maybe because Jim Carry...

Fantastic. The 3d effects are great, the animation is great. My favorite Christmas story. It even stays true to the dialogue in the book. Best movie version of this story I've seen yet. Instant classic.

One of Greatest 3D Christmas Movie for all time, another one is Polar Express 3D. Excellent 3D CG, especially watch it in IMAX 3D.

I did not like this movie at all. It seems Disney is working a little harder on their special effects than the movie quality these days. Both of my kids said they did not enjoy the movie either. It's said when a remake can not live up to the 40 year old original. Trust me when I say, and this from a person who likes most every movie he sees, skip it, it sucked.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] The new Christmas movie is in theaters, with Charles Dickens's story. It's funny to listen Jim Carrey who make the voice of an old man. The 3D effects are very good. You feel like you are flying. The characters are unique and a touch of humour brings color to the movie. For the best sensations, don't sit on the back of the movie theater. Also, it's a familly movie. The teens risk to not like it. At the end, the main character, «Scrooge» has a big transformation. He starts as on a old and a greed man and he finishes as a good and happy person. The movie shows a beautiful moral. Perfect for the december celebration.

Great remake of the Classic. Animation and 3D superb! Much darker than I thought it would be based on the cast (Carrey, Hoskins, Elewes, Firth) Both my 9 and 7 year olds found it too scary in parts. Overall, I enjoyed it more than the kids.

AMAZING movie. It's supposed to be animation, so considering how well it was animated, it was incredible. A MUST see. Jim Carrey's performance was great as was Gary Oldman's. Followed the Dickens' story very well, well directed and put together. Must see!

My 6yr old son and I went and though we did enjoy the story, he did feel it was quite scary at times; mainly the ghosts. After seeing the movie, I would recommend it to older children - over 8.

If you want see a good Christmas movie go see ' A Christmas Carol '. In this movie you can feel the emotion of Scrooge the principal character :sadness, happiness and frighten. The animation it's very good but the effect 3D is not bad because things don't jump on our face, just the character is not on the screen. The dialogue was excellent and very funny. I think the movie is a little bit scary for kids of 5-6 years old. The story is not original because it's similar to another movie and that makes me disapointed.

This is the first time "A Christmas Carol" scared me and actually made me jump! Amazing 3-d Effects and Graphics. Took my 10 year old, some parts were a little too scarry for her, but we did enjoy the movie! Not recommended for younger children though...

A tasteful, high quality update of the Dickens classic. Jim Carey & Gary Oldman deliver superb performances and the 3-D effects add magic to a great holiday story.

Why is it a masterpiece you ask. Computer animation is todays canvas and oil. It is the work of many artist and programmers who have taken 0 and 1 and created a whole new medium. This story is a classic and is held dearly by the green lighters in Hollywood and thank all the Ghosts of Christmas, that they made this version. Enjoy and Happy Holidays to all.

This was my first 3D movie and I loved the effects and the Christmas Carol is a really good story. It was not new to me since I watch the movie every year anyway, it was the best adaptation of the book which was the directors goal.

I was so disappointed. There is way too much animation and special effects. I believe that it takes a lot off of Jim Carrey's brilliant acting. I wanted to see Jim Carrey, but it felt as thought I saw a caricature of him.

I'd like to rate it 6.5. Jim Carey's character was well done. Scary parts for young children and followed the book exactly. Seen the play live and compared to a live play it is a 5 out of 10. Good show for the holiday's and worth it as point 5 as was in 3D I saw it with my husband. Go see it for a holiday night out.

My 15 year old and I really loved it. The effects were awesome. I think if I hadn't seen the original Alistair Sims version every year for at least 40 years, I might have enjoyed it slightly more and gave it a 9-10. Knowing how it ends is just a drawback of re-makes. I will own the DVD. Do not expect young children to enjoy it. There are periods where it is drawn out and little ones will lose interest, not to mention some pretty scary and goulish scenes.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Very well done. The animation and the 3D enhance the “nightmarish” elements and are a perfect media for retelling this story. A couple of misses - I would have liked the connection between the death of Scrooge's sister and his animosity towards his nephew to have been retained and I agree with others when they say that the end was far too rushed - we are not given a chance to "love" Scrooge and his devotion to Tiny Tim as the years after his rebirth unfold. But, on the whole very well done.

I was expecting much better from Disney and Carrey... so I was dissapointed. The ghosts were annoying and the x-mas future one was much too hard to understand for kids - definitely not a kids movie. I loved the animation however and the Dickens town was very well done - the 3D effects are also wonderful. Unfortunately, NOT one to add to the x-mas movie shelf we have at home :o (

My husband and the kids went. Hubby was falling asleep, did not enjoy at all. I on the other hand thought the graphics was amazing. The Christmas Carol of 2009 is good, but at the same time it was not heartfelt like the black and white version it was more of a colder version of Scrooge. (Even though it was cartoon) Overall for my opinion 50/50. My 12 year old did not like it , but my 11 year very excited about all the action.

I'm always fascinated by these graphics; just can't imagine the effort it must take. This graphical rendition of an old story was a nice change in the sense that this version gives the tech prominence. However sometimes it went over the top with too much action causing a loss of continuity and keeping to the "moral of the story". Nonetheless, nice to have the people version and the graphical verson.

Very good remake of an old fav. Worth the money to see the new tech. 3D was also new and improved and made it more interesting. May be too intense for small kids.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This is a good movie, up until the mid point. Then it does stray in its presentation of the original storyline and I felt that it shouldn't have. I suppose a director can take some poetic license but it was unnecessary. This is a classic story. I also felt that the epiphany part of Ebeneezer's life at the end of the movie was cut far too short. From the time he wakes on Christmas day to the closing credits, it was a whirlwind. It would have been nice for the audience to savour his newfound joy for life. As for Jim Carrey, his voice for Ebeneezer was an exact mirror image of Alastair Sim from 1951. The accent and inflections were almost identical. I would even imagine that the director could have simply dubbed in Sim’s original lines from the first movie into this 3-D replica. I am not sure what purpose it served to have the first two ghosts use Carrey’s voice and face as well. It pulled me away from the character Scrooge’s soul searching. I found the same thing when I watched Carrey’s role in the Grinch. It seemed more about him than the character being he played. I like Jim Carrey but sometimes he is over the top and distractive. As with all other 2008 3-D movies the effect is spectacular and not over done. And I had a first today…I actually went over and told this young guy to turn off his cell phone. He was texting for 30 minutes straight. I think I will bring a small flash- light in future and just shine it in their faces. Care to join me?
