A first look into the seedy underbelly of American culture. Richard Gere, looking young and buff plays the young hustler who romances lonely, wealthy, women seeking a little love and attention. One of the first films to explore the sexually charged underground of male prostitution, gives us an insider's look into a genre not previously explored at that time. Lauren Hutton an ex-Vogue cover girl, plays the convincing love interest. Gere and Hutton are beautiful eye candy. While this movie was very stylized with an excellent soundtrack by Giorgio Moroder it wasn't anymore than fodder for an afternoon of escape mixed with popcorn. Worth seeing.
