Greatest Canadian Horror Film ever made. What sets it apart from other films is the fact that you can take it seriously and relate to it. Canadian Master of Horror David Cronenberg creates a genre that was continued with 28 Days Later.

This is mostly wierd. I thought Marilyn Chambers was realy bad in this movie. It was like a cheesy porno/horror movie with a bad story and without any porn. Honestly, you should see shivers instead, it's a bit better... If you're interested in cronenberg, you should see Dead ringers, Naked Lunch, scanners, crash, existenz, all of thes are much better, and they still have that creepy perverted atmosphere that cronenberg is best at doing.

This movie was great. I went cause I thought Matylin Chambers was great in dirty movies, but it proved she could act.

I saw it when it first came out in 1977 at the drive-inn in Kenora (Ontario) and it scared the hell out of me. I was pregnant with my first child and really thought I was going into labour because the horror was so intense. Beats most horrors now because of its purity. Would definitely go to see it again!
