Give it a chance, that's all I ask. It can be genius if it fits your sense of humor. Don't let this one slip between the cracks of pop culture, our children will refer to it as a classic.

This movie has the following: 1. Comedy 2. Romance 3. Cleverness This movie has every mood there is. The music makes a lot of it possible. Example: When Devon Sawa (Dave) and James King (Angela) were swimming in the water, the music playing at that time sets the perfect mood. This movie was refreshing, funny, interesting, and clever. -Thank You.

"For anyone who didn't like it, it was probably too intelligent for them." I agree. This movie was wickedly satirical. I don't usually like potty humor movies at all - they are too trite and predictable - but this movie was filled with wonderful little odd moments, some beautiful cinematography and camera work, smart acting, and great music. I can't believe they don't even have a sound track to this movie! And I can't believe the critics reaction to it. How could you not see the sharp and wicked humor in this movie? It is one of the most refreshing, clever movies I have seen in a long time. Sad that most people didn't get the joke.

Hmmmmm, how can I put it this movie SUCKED!! Honestly I wanted to give this movie a -1 but unfortunately this website doesn't provide that option. I snuck out of Kung Pow (because it was trash also) to see this movie but this made Kung Pow seem like a one of the great comedies. The only thing good about this movie was... wait there was nothing good about this movie.

Being a fan of Devon Sawa, I thought I would enjoy this movie. Some parts would good, like the love story between Dave (Devon) and Angela, but Jason Schwartzman's character was scary. The movie did have some laughs though, so it wasn't a total loss. P.S. Cute buns Devon!

A good wholesome and innocent type film. I enjoyed it.

A gross, vulgar and utterly unfunny film. The money spent on making this would be better spent on Biafra relief.

This movie will have the same problem Royal Tenebaums had. It's just not your typical film. It's also too smart for the audience it's aimed at, which it too bad because it is a good movie. Basically if you liked Rushmore you will like this one because Jason Schwartzman is playing virtually the same character. As for the scenes that make "no sense" don't people realize that the characters are just fantasizing about weird stuff... please be more opened minded.

Having seen "Rushmore", I was not expecting great things from Slackers. However, I found this movie to be very very entertaining and on several occasions I was bent in half with gut wrenching laughter. The "hooker joke, fart joke, geek joke" one two three punch is a real knockout! Not an academy award winner but worth a few bucks to laugh a little.

How anyone can say this movie tries to be another American Pie is beyond me. Slackers is brilliant. It's not just another teen movie. The only resemblance it does have to American Pie and its vast army of copies is the fact that they decided to throw in a couple of warped gross-out scenes, almost as afterthoughts, probably to attract the teenage crowd. Whereas American Pie drew its laughter from vulgar visual gags, it's the characters who make this one funny. Jason Schwartzman should win an Oscar for playing the most diabolical movie villain in recent memory. Seriously, this guy is cracked. He makes Hannibal Lecter look like Mr. Rogers. Don't go in expecting just another American Pie. Slackers is something like a cross between Rushmore and Road Trip. For anyone who didn't like it, it was probably too intelligent for them.
