Really good movie. It was missin a lil something... but very good and inspiring and of course... it had Eminem in it!!

Originally back in '03 when I heard Eminem was making a movie I thought for sure it would bomb but he made it from the heart and its honesty comes across. Surprisingly good acting by all.

Stumbled onto this site while doing research for a book which has small discussion on censorship (yes, Eminenem's October 26, 2000 concert in Ontario was nearly banned by Ontario's politicians) Saw the 8 mile movie in 2003 and, yes, while the language may offend some, I am an old guy who started to ask why we use language as an excuse to not listen. A compelling story that is well acted and should be watched and listened to, even by politicians, to challenge how we are going to deal with the justifiable anger that comes from discriminating situations.

This movie is surprisingly good with a great message about being yourself and following your dreams. Acting is excellent and the rap music fits very well with the movie. I highly recommend this one.

I don't know how everyone could love this movie so much. Is it because Eminem is in it, and it's supposedly loosely based on his life? I found it had a lot of slow parts, and it was cheaply made. I think this movie could have been a lot better if they put more time and thought into it.

I really liked how the main character believed in his dream so much he went all the way with it and fell back many times. Even thought it might have been vulgar in some ways the message was really strong and I admire that.

Vert good acting my M. It really was a interesting movie and one to watch over and over again with friends. Even know a lot of actors tried the same thing with movied depicting their life 8 MILE was the better of the lot. Good movie.

A surprisingly entertaining and uplifting movie considering it was another cross over attempt by a hip hop artist. Eminem's acting is well supported by his costars Mekhi and Brittany. A definitely enjoyable experience even maybe worth purchasing on dvd.

Hi, I thought the movie was pretty good. Eminem is a very talented actor, but through his music, I could have guessed that, it is very life like and realistic, but it has enough hope and positives to balance all the depressing and rough times that the movie portrays. It was worthe seeing in the theater. I was not disapointed.

I saw it about 3 days ago and can't get it off of my mind. It shooked me upside down in the inside. Sincerely, this is a GREAT movie, one in my best movies top 5. Ahhh, it was so good. Don't you dare forget the bonus on the DVD! You MUST see it once in your life (except if you hate Eminem or loathe particularly rapping 'cause there's a lot in the movie. ) Acting was retty good, story lines just too great, even though there was a LOT of cursing throughout the film. Those who are incapable of enduring coarse language, just don't think about it. I think that 8 Mile is a movie very intense emotionally. Go rent it right away. A real must. WOW!

A must see if you like Eminem. But I want first to make something clear : it is NOT Eminem's life. They took the base but only the base of his life. Look at the bonus, you'll understand. Wow! Personally, I waited a long time before seeing it 'cause I actually like Eminem. But before, 3 or 4 years ago, I didn't like him and I'm sure I wouldn't have like that film while I didn't like him. What I want to say is that if you don't like him, you'll probably won't like ''his'' movie, so in that case, don't rent it. As someone said before, it is more teen movie, strong language wouldn't be appreciate by older because they curse all film long. Even though, it was a great movie, at my mind.

Excellent movie. Showed rapper Eminem as a multi talented entertainer. Show a gritty determintation of a not so well to do young man, looking for a way out, and while introduceing a love interest that goes south.
