The first review...

Very good representation of the Stalin era SU outside Goulag. Although certain topics in the scénario do not hold water at all (like the trip to Bulgaria of the entire family with the wife just out of camp) but you're kept in horrified sympathy and during the whole film. The authors have not had the sincerity to confess that the movie is based in fact on H.Troyat's trilogy "La lumiere des justes" and not on real facts as they claim.
