[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] It took 3 writers to come up with this garbage and that's the best that they could do? There was absolutely no character development - we didn't even get to know the characters - they were flat. There was no plot and not the least bit moving in any way - it was cold, emotionless and there was no answers/issues resolved. Even the title doesn't even tie into the so-called story. The ending made no sense at all, first she's at her wedding, then all of a sudden it looks like she's trying to drown herself in the ocean - if she had at least it would have added interest to a weak storyline.

Really, Really bad movie! Made no sense at all, especially the ending! The only reason that I actually watched to the end was because I was waiting for some answers, which never happened.

This movie is poorly written. We don't really get to know the characters. Much of it is unbelievable. The suggesting of sexual interest of a grown woman toward a 10 year old child (regardless of the reincarnation plot) is ludicrous and revolting. This movie left a bad taste in my mouth.

This is most definitely the worst movie I've ever seen. I didn't understand half of what was going on and the sudden jumps between what was actually happening confused me far too much, and I'm pretty perceptive with movie "hidden meanings" and such. The whole thing was boring and made my skin crawl. I don't know what Nicole Kidman was thinking. Every single character in this movie was crazy in some way or another and all annoyed me. And I was completely baffled at the end. Horrible movie. I'm glad my friend gets into the theatre for free... what a waste of time.

This movie was brilliant! Very original story, wonderful acting, and even better directing. A very deliberate introspective movie that looks beautiful on the screen. Some may find it slow-moving, but not if u are into what goes on deep in the human psyche. Really keeps you thinking, long after the movie is over.

This was by far one of the worst movies of all time. Even Nicole couldn't save the movie's horrid story-line and poor directing..

Nicole Kidman was great, but the movie wasn't...

Just the 2-minute close-up scene of Nicole depicting an ocean of emotions surging in her, is sufficient to draw you into the movie completely. Superb cinematography and clever plot. Saw it twice at the movie theatre. My favourite film of the year.

This could possibly be the worst movie I have ever seen. I feel sorry for all of the actors in it that had to endure this movie being released to the public. From the extended dramatic pauses to the ever annoying instrumental music [...]

This movie is interesting but definitely not one of the the usual main- stream, pop movies. It takes longer for viewers to comprehend, It provokes thoughts and challenges our beliefs... Nicole is wonderful... however I think they could have found someone better to play that boy... This is a very unique movie... I like the twist in the end.

Birth is an elegant, powerful, cinematic tour de force. Forget Kidman, who is fine here as an emotionally devastated widow, it's the director Jonathan Glazer that shines. First Sexy Beast then this, could you be any cooler? A must see if you love movies.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] It may be interesting to explore the notion of reincarnation, but this movie failed to get me thinking. Nicole Kidman was creepy, and who wants to see a naked adult woman looking at a little boy that way? This movie alternated between boring me to death and giving me the willies. Save your time and money.

Nicole's great face and legs alone are worth the price of admission. Beyond that, a brilliant movie that dares to explore.

I found it to be very clever and well done. My friends and I spent the rest of the evening debating the ending.

Brilliant and edgy. The music was beautiful and the silence was deafening. Nicole played a woman on the edge amazingly, she was filmed so well. One scene the camera closes in on her face and you can see the turmoil, mixing rage, confusion, glee and fear. I think this is one of her best films. Subject matter made hold my breath at times, but well thought out and well filmed. I loved it.

The worst movie ever! The actors are way too quiet, when they talk they don't make sense, really stupid! After 15 minutes, I just wanted to go home. Absurd story!

Initially I was uncertain as to whether this is an extraordinarily clever film OR one which is desperately flawed, plot wise. However... 2 days later (still thinking about it which MUST indicate something! )I have come to the conclusion that the ambiguity that exists, whilst frustrating, simply reinforces that, when it comes to existential questions and our obsession with making some kind of sense of life and death, we will NEVER know. Had there been a "neat" ending the movie would have been advocating or denying beliefs in reincarnation. The ball has, a esthetically quite beautifully, been thrown back into the court and as the human condition dictates, will never end with "game, set and match"!!

I thought the film was very well done. The music throughout the film is beautiful, yet eerie as well. I personally think the ending isn't what it seems, if you pay attention throughout the film you'll understand why I make a point of saying that. The young boy is very convincing, and Nicole Kidman does a good job... Very different, not for everyone.

This movie makes you think about reincarnation and wonders if there is ever a something could happen... IT appears to be slow in some scenes but both characters of Nicole Kidman and the little boy are just great...

I want my money back, that is all that I can say. I walked out of the theatre thinking, that could have possibly been the worst movie that I have ever seen.

If you want to see a good movie about the possibility or reincarnation see P. S. which is coming out soon. Terrific. Birth... parts were mesmerizing but in the end I was left with two possible outcomes in my mind. That, in itself, wouldn't normally bother me... but neither "answer" was very satisfying for me...

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Very slow at times. Not at all erotic, sexy or objectionable. The ending could be interpreted as showing true love and maturinting beyond the boys age. Does re-incaration exist? This movie will not tell you but it might make you think on what you would do if your lover came back.

Movie did have long slow scenes. Pace of the movie should have been a little quicker. Performance by Nicole Kidman and Cameron Bright were incredible..

This movie left me feeling sad. It is a poignant portrayal of the shattering pain that can remain a decade after the loss of a loved one. Due to the orchestral music and dramatic makeup, (for Nicole especially), the movie felt like a theatrical production more so than a regular movie. Sometimes one scene would jump to another, other times, the camera would stay fixated on one object (like Nicole's face) for what seems like an eternity. While the 'sexual' scenes made me uneasy, I did not find them disturbing as some media portrayed them to be. They were not excessive and never really crossed the line in my opinion. Anyhow, this movie isn't for everyone, judge for yourself.

Very disturbing... but very good and thought provoking at the same time. The music in this movie is funny and scary. I like this kind of movies. Here's a 10 for Nicole Kidman and the disturbing boy..

It was a beautiful film with the supposed controversial subject matter handled extremely tastefully. Kidman is well on her way to being the best actress of her generation. I didn't really get the ending, I thought somehow it would end differently..

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Interesting movie with strong message that a love/marriage commitment while in love with someone else, even dead, just shouldnt happen... the reincarnation vehicle to underscore this theme was poignant... Watch for the sacrifice made in the spirit of true love...

The director of this movie had an intresting idea although it wasnt developped to its fullest. This movie was slow and the scenes were not as efficient as they should be although it still deserves some credit for the delicate subject of reincarnation.

The premise is very interesting but the movie doesn't take full advantage of it. The performances of the 10 year old boy and Nicole Kidman were fantastic. She looks very different with her new hairstyle and her eyebrows make her look evil. The controversial scene is no big deal. The camera moves very slowly at times and is even static in some scenes. The director likes to use very dim lighting on several occasions. There is a twist at the end that I won't spoil here.
