I hate this movie because it tries to erase the very reality of the relationship between males and women in french ghettos. In this movie, a teenage girl is being beatten by a guy for no real reason. But the director far from condemning this agresion is kind of condescending with it. Moreover the scenario and the general mood of the movie reminds me so much the book of Samira Bellil that it is very close to plagiarism. It is almost as if the director had taken the book, erased the gang rapes part and replace it by a love story. Good idea but he forgot to suppress all the physical violence against the women. I would like to remind all the readers that the reality of the life in french ghettos as explained in the book of Samira bellil:Dans L'Enfer Des Tournantes (In The Hell Of tournantes) Published in 2002, it had made her immediately infamous, because it was the first time a young woman had dared to reveal the reality of life in the deprived ghettos - the banlieue - of French cities. I consider myself as fluent in french but with this movie I must admit that either I am not or as the other critics seem to imply the language used is pidgin. The young actors are goog but the movie is incredibly boring. A lot of yelling, a lot of violence and a twisted message from the réalisator. A very bad movie when compared to: "la haine".
