The golden compass is a childs movie that is trying to appeal to adults. It kinda works and kinda doesn't. The CGI work is amazing. The story is not great, but not weak either. Had some need concepts but some dumb ones as well. Very predictable, but considering it's a movie adaption it should be for a adult. All in all it's a good movie to take the kids out to see for a family night out.
