A nice, predictable plot. Perfect feel good movie, if that's what you are looking for.

It is horrible it has naked people throughout the whole movie. And I went to see it with my children. And we left right away.

Vince is pretty good in anything he does. For Fred Claus, he didn't dissapoint. A very nice holiday movie and we're sorry we never took this one in before Christmas; better late than never and worth the rental when it comes out on DVD too!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] There were funny parts, but some parts will make you scream," CHEESY!!!" right out loud or "LAME!!!". I also wonder what the hell Fred sees in Martha. Martha's got to be the most boring, unattractive, [woman] EVER. She has NOTHING but looks, and even her looks aren't superb.

I expected classic Vince Vaughn funny and just never got it. His humour just doesn't work with the kiddy Christmas story. The story was long and I left the movie like something was missing from it. Maybe Vince needed to drop a couple F-bombs. Maybe that was it. Anyways my wife fell asleep watching this and I looked at my watch way too often.

Surprisingly good... especially after reading some negative reviews. Pleasant movie, sweet and as someone else wrote... no swearing (I might not have noticed), but it is true that it is refreshing.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] A good concept and decent movie. However, not one of Vince Vaughn’s best rolls. He didn’t carry it. And his dialogue was rambly and whinny that left you not listening, when the writers could have given him crisp, killer one liners that would have made the movie. So, bad casting and bad writing (or directing – hard to say if those lines were adlibbed) The writing continued to be problematic when it bit off way more than it could chew. Way too many problems to solve by Christmas, way too many troubled characters, and little time. It leaves a lot of the problems and characters undeveloped. The business deal, the bad girlfriend relationship, Santa’s health, the orphan, the shy single elf, the troubled auditor, the parent relationship….. too many problems to recall. I was ready for a major eye roll when a dozen problems would be solved happily ever after in the ending. It did seem to work though. I found Kevin Spacey once again pulled off a good act.

One of the worst Christmas films I've ever seen. Good actors, but horrible acting/lines. Some funny parts redeem the film a little. Don't waste your money or time.

Vince Vaughn should never do bad guy because his mean streak feels far too real. And ugly in this film is far too real. That makes it a problem as a children's movie. So it has a kiddie set at the North Pole and cute elves, but then you have a real sense of mean and a real loss of virtue in the first forty minutes. It could just be me, but the more I see contemporary language and values mixed in with the Christmas theme, the less meaningful Christmas seems to me because this sort of thing merges the vulgar or let's just say the common with the magical."What up. Santa!" "Word Rudolph!" "Whea dah reindeah at?!" And, of course, this is not just a language thing. It expresses itself in the goals and ambitions of the characters who become far less than Christmassy because they are trying to squeeze fifty thousand dollars out of old Saint Nick or because Santa's mother is a nag and liked Nick better than Fred. The movie picks up and moves toward a Christmas happy movie toward the end, but it really shows how tough it is to balance the grinch thing when you do an Xmas film. In this case, something just goes wrong at the outset. People (Vaughn) do not seem like the type we even hope will be redeemed. So I'm glad I did not have kids begging me to see this movie. At the same time, it's a little too much of a kid's movie for me. Boy it really makes you realize how lucky we are that Jimmy Stewart did "It's a Wonderful Life."

I must admit that I thought this movie was going to be a lot funnier than it actually was. There were some cute parts, and a good message behind the movie, but if you are looking for a laugh-out-loud typical Vince Vaughn movie, then you should probably skip this one.

It could of been longer and a bit funnier. But I guess that it's a start to a story that could have sequals. Fred was not that funny I found that santa clause three is money better spent.

Wow. I don't believe I'm giving this an 8. I went into the theatre with low hopes. It's G rated - what else can I say? And plus, Tim Allen isn't in this one. The movie was actually pretty good. There were many parts where I laughed out loud, and you can easily see why Fred is so messed up. I don't see why this isn't rated PG though. There were many parts where the little boy next to me said "mommy, what does that mean? " Overall, it was a good movie!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Okay, I love Vince Vaughn and Paul Giamatti... icing on the cake was to discover Kevin Spacey, Rachel Weiss, Miranda Richardson and Kathy Bates as well! Funny funny cameos in the "Siblings Anonymous" footage... I won't spoil it by mentioning names. As a sibling I found this movie hilarious (and often apt) Nice to have a holiday movie with no nudity or violence or massive amounts of swearing. I would heartily advise people to see it.

With all the wonderful actors in the movie I thought it would have been so much better. I'm a big fan of Vince Vaughn which I think someone else would have been a better choice to play fred claus. Also I adore Kevin Spacey and tho he plays very many different types of characters in other movies- I didn't really enjoy him in this movie. The beginning was long as boring- I thought this would have been similar to the Santa Claus's movies 1 2 and 3 that has been coming out around Christmas time. I was going to bring my granddaughter and decided I would go and see it first- well I'm glad I didn't bring her- I don't think it would have kept her interested at all in the beginning. I would say you might as well wait for the video to come out. Hope you enjoy it more then we did. Happy Movie Goings.

It's a pretty terrible Xmas movie overall. I can't believe the amount of good actors they scored for this garbage too. Kathy Bates, Kevin Spacey, Paul Giamatti?! Those are pretty grade-A actors. Worst of all was Rachel Weisz who I thought was brilliant in Constant Gardener then she goes to this?! Vince Vaughn made me laugh a bunch as usual but all the slapstick comedy was SO forced. Plus, the movie tries to be sentimental over and over again and mostly fails, except for one scene where there's kids opening xmas presents. That was pretty effective. And may I say it's some of the worst CGI I've ever seen (those elf faces that sort of floated around were terrifying) Anyway, it's not worth the few laughs it gives and the entire time watching it, I was wishing I was at home watching The Santa Clause instead. A far more genuine holiday flick.
